Randy Haynes explanation
The way I see it boats are getting lighter and faster to get the angler to their spot faster. That means if two guys who have both fished a spot have to race to the spot may the best driver win. I don't see that Lambert did anything wrong. The issue I have with the situation isn't Haynes withdrawing or Lambert out driving to the spot. My issue was when Haynes made the comment that he was the leader and everyone needed to respect that he was the leader and allow him to fish where he wants to fish.

Need help finding a new setup
Kistler KLX Drop Shot Finesse rod with a Straic FK (FK balances better on this rod) and then a MH KLX Feel n Reel with a Tatula CT or Lew LFS (great combo for moving baits)

Would you rather get a rod or reel on sale?
Rods. I am a firm believer in investing in great rods over higher end reels.

ICAST 2018 rumors/new products
Daiwa is going to steal the show this year. Tatulas, Rods, hardbaits, more soft plastics partnered with Yamamoto and braided line. I'm very excited to see it all. Plus Kislter will have their new ZBone, Omega Custom tackle is revealing a new swim jig and spinnerbait. Another rumor is Shimano is dropping a $50 reel based of the Casitas as well and Daiwa will have a Chinese outsourced sub $100 reel.

Yet another Wacky hook question. Owner vs Neko
I found a relatively new tungsten company that makes great weight wackey hooks. FLW angler Jim Sparone started the business its called Wicked Weights.

Pigeon Forge,TN
little pigeon river. I prefer to fish the stretch in Townsend. Another place and I can't remember the name of the water but there is a small river almost a creek that follows the Cades Cove access road. Its been a while since I have fished down there. Used to live in Sevierville and Cocker Creek.

Sufix 832 , powerpro , And spiderwire ?
I HATE Power Pro. I think I'm the only one that has such a bad taste for it. My only complaint with 832 is it fades faster than any other brand. I do like and if in a bind will use Spiderwire Stealth but my go to line is Vicious no-fade braid (initial investment is high but it is the most durable line I've used. I can show you a picture of my spools that have had the same no fade on them since Jan 2017 and still looks and performs like brand new.) Then my next choice is Daiwa J-Braid X4.

Abu Garcia Veritas 3.0
I use the 2 different rods one is 7'4" *** ($100). Its the original ***. If you can stand the bright green blank its a great rod. The other is the Daiwa Tatula Eilte (non AGS)($180) 6'9" Hvy Montgomery rod. I do have a Kistler Magnesium 2 ($220) 7'3" Heavy Mod that I have tossed the Whopper Plopper 130 with and its great but I wouldn't throw an S-Waver 168 with it. EDIT: I'll send ya message.

Fishing
That is my number one pet peeve as a co angler (fishing too fast). 9 out of 10 times I get paired with a boater who wants to be KVD. Two tournaments ago I was paired with a guy that trolled the bank on high, he would flip a plastic and count it down half way and reel it in. My senko or jig never once reached the bottom. All day I kept hearing him say "They're on the graph I don't understand why they aren't biting." I got skunked and he caught one the entire day. However last week's tournament we put spot lock on and stayed in one area for about 90 minutes and both weighed in a healthy bag. When I get out in my own boat its the same thing; slow down, work the entire area and water column and make specific targeted casts.

Best Reel for $100

Great rods that get no love
Anything that's not St. Croix, G Loomis or Dobyns. But all seriousness my list is: Kistler Magnesium 2 (See lots about the KLX and Helium 3) Denali Kovert and Kovert Lite Phenix M1 Enigma Aarons Edge Falcon Bucco Okuma TCS

Abu Garcia Veritas 3.0
All Abu Garcia rods especially the Veritas lines are very under rated. Med feels like a Mh, MH like a HVY. The rod you purchased will feel more like a XH rod great for punching thick stuff. It may be too stout for the Whooper Plopper and S-Waver.

Is molding jig heads at home worth it?
I respectfully disagree with it costing more. If you are pouring plastics for yourself and not trying to sell you can use the $30 Do it molds for injection or if you are into hand pouring Lurecraft can get you silicon molds for $10. When I first started pouring baits I bought a gallon of plastisol, softener, 2 colors, 2 glitters, oil, and two silicon molds for $150. I do however agree it takes up a lot of space and should not be done in a house.

UPDATED!!! Ned vs the Drop Shot
I work them a little different. For the ned I like to drag it along the bottom or very softly switch it. And for a shakey head I am more bouncing it off the bottom and letting it fall back down.
-
UPDATED!!! Ned vs the Drop Shot
I threw both during my tournament. The 1/10 Ned was just too light for the 20' I was fishing. I switched to a 3/8 out drop shot. I switched between a Jackall Cross tail shad and a super fluke. was able to put a small limit together on the drop shot. However I switched to a 3/8oz shakey head with a 6" Jackall Flick Shake and was able to land a 3 and a 3.5. I ended the day with a bag of 11# 2oz which got me 2nd on the Co-Angler side. I think if I would have switched to the shakey head earlier I could have won the co side but I switch late in the day. We were fishing an overcast cold front on deep rock piles and submerged vegetation.

internet shopping tax?
its not nearly as difficult or expensive to code the taxes into your website. Walmart, Amazon, Target to name a few already charge online sales tax. When you put in your shipping info the site is coded to know exactly how much to charge in tax based on city and state. They do not charge county tax.

KVD 1.5 Square Bill Vs. Others
I like the H2O squarebills. great value but like others have stated I'd prefer to go with 6th sense or skirmish baits. My gripe with the KVD, H2O and the cheap LC baits are the finish, hooks, and lack of quality control. It seems that I have to tune them every time I get them out of the package to get them to run like they are supposed to. I'd rather pay the few extra dollars for top notch components and better quality control.

UPDATED!!! Ned vs the Drop Shot
What waters were you fishing?

UPDATED!!! Ned vs the Drop Shot
The normal DS bait is roboworm or fluke. I was thinking of going with the Ned to give something different but also considered using something like the Jackall Crosstail Shad or Strike King Drop Shot Half Shell on the Drop Shot and just present a different bait.

UPDATED!!! Ned vs the Drop Shot
I have fished with this particular boater a few times and have already mentally prepared to not move all day. Once he finds fish he puts spot lock on and doesn't move till weigh in even when the bite slows. I thought about wackey rigging a trick worm with a nail weight as well. I prepared 4 finesse setups and one flipping rod because I know it will be a tube, wackey, DS, Ned in deeper water type of day.
-
UPDATED!!! Ned vs the Drop Shot
Clear water, Rocky bottom. Think lake Erie type water. Usually we fish around 10-25' dragging tubes used to be the norm but now everyone is throwing DS. I usually carry 5 rods as a co.
-
UPDATED!!! Ned vs the Drop Shot
Fishing an event this weekend as a Co. Already have my boater and he said "as usual drop shot all day" Literally every angler in this even will have a drop shot in his hand all day. The drop shot has replaced a tube in the events I fished. I am thinking as a back seater I should throw something a little different and go out throwing the Ned rig. I know how versatile the Ned is. However is this a good presentation in drop shot dominating water or should I just try to get bites by DS a different bait than my boater?

New Dropshot Rod (Steez AGS?)
I use two rods to drop shot with. First a 6'6" Kislter Helium 3 Med X-Fast and second a Kistler KLX 7' drop shot finesse specific rod. The Helium 3 is the most sensitive rod I've used but the KLX is a close second. I would add Kistler to the mix when it comes to sensitive, finesse applications.

New shimano woes... question
You made the best choice. I had split loyalties to Abu and the name that should not be spoken. I tried and Shimano Curado I and it strengthen my loyalties to them. However @fishnkamp posts about Daiwa made me give them a whirl and now most of my reels are Tatulas (Type R, CT, SV, 150 (I like how big it is because I have giant hands)). I have a couple gen 4 Revos and 3 1 and 3 Zs but my Tatulas are my work horses.
