The Other Brown Fish
Out of every post I have EVER read of yours, this has got me the "ABSOLUTE most jealous fisherman" to date! I spend hours on the river every year, my wife actually estimated this year I have spent in upwards of $10,000 chasing those darn brown fish, and to date my biggest is dwarfed by BOTH of yours! Maybe I need to head north for some of those beauties! Jeff

Jig Fishing - Your Thoughts
There is a reason why I have a jig tied on a rod 100% of the time! Because it flat out catches fish all year long! And it is my favorite! LOL Jeff

Updated: Pull The Trigger On An '02 Triton Tr-185 Or '05 Skeeter Sx180? (Updated W/pics & Info On Pg 2)
Its not always a questionable thing, but for a pro to have a newer engine yes! most pros get new boats every year.... If it was a leftover boat bought 2 years later, then that is a reason for a newer engine, but it raises concerns for me. I wouldn't worry about speeds either, like the op suggested of a slower boat. just my opinion though! Jeff

Updated: Pull The Trigger On An '02 Triton Tr-185 Or '05 Skeeter Sx180? (Updated W/pics & Info On Pg 2)
Why does the triton have a newer engine/ Was the pro hard on his stuff, blew it up and had to get a newer one? Much more info is needed to make a quality decision! Jeff

Pickwick Partner
I don't know the answer to that. I do know that supposedly they have a well system to keep horseshoe at a good level now but they are charging owners the well pump costs and it is causing a big stir especially with the farmers. Jeff.

Trailer Tires
Basically in the simplest terms I can make it: Caster is the relationship of the center line of the spindle(from upper ball joint center line to lower ball joint center line) measured in degrees. If the upper ball joint is slightly forward of the lower, it will have negative caster. And visa versa. Camber is the relationship of the same center line, but in regards to the "tilt" of the center line in regards to degrees. If the top ball joint is farther out than the lower ball joint, making the tire lean out towards the top, it is positive camber. Visa versa. The way this plays in effect on a boat trailer is simple. You do NOT need to set 0 camber on a bare trailer. If you set your trailer on 0 degrees camber with no boat on it, and place your boat back on the trailer, the weight ( mostly centered on the trailer) will cause the camber to turn negative(tire tilting towards the center of axle) and cause uneven tire wear. The best way to measure camber is with the boat on the trailer, and also hooked to your tow vehicle, on level ground. Jeff

Yea the wind was a little tough yesterday as well! Just had to deal with it! RW was down there as well, and I think they did a little better on the brown fish. Our best smallie was 2.5 and green fish was around 4. Don't quote me, but I think rw and partner caught 10 sm and 8 lm? Jeff

Pickwick Partner

Looking For A Left Handed Shotgun
keep in mind that a benelli is inertia drivin, which basically means it uses the recoil to cycle the gun. They just made it sound fancy. A gas operated gun will be much less recoil and better for a younger shooter! Jeff

Bites To Catches - What Is Good Number?
I try and catch a fish on every cast and land every bite.....doesnt happen but I still try....80% is a good number....miss 2 out of 10 bites! 50-60% jig bite is LOW!! When you feel anything, reel down and swing for fences! Topwater, is their bite to miss....but 20% is also low! I dont fish senko's much so I would say 90% is good as I think 80% is good! Jeff
