  1. Most new country isn't good IMO. The reason a lot of people who like outlaw/classic country don't like new country is because it sounds like pop music. There is a difference if you weren't aware. To say country has been pop music since the 60's isn't all true. Some of it has been been, but you can't say Hank Jr. George Jones, Haggard, Willie, Waylon, or Verne Gosdin (to name a few) have ever been considered pop.
  2. I recently told my parents about me dropping out of college. They weren't necessarily mad, but they weren't ecstatic either. They may be mad for a little while, but they will get over it and most likely support your decision. My situation is a little different though because I am going to a trade school next year, so I am not dropping out forever. I would make sure you have a good plan for a career before you make any major decisions though.
  3. Is it just starting in Cali?
  4. Wow! That was rough. As a Vikings fan, I can understand why they would say this, but for what reason? This won't solve anything especially since the contributors were anonymous. I would really hate to see Childress lose his job because I think he is a good coach, but if they don't get things going, it is inevitable. They always have to blame other people even when it's not their fault.
  5. That's great Hooked On Bass. Some more Hank Jr.
  6. If only these guys were at the CMAs...
  7. As long as we're posting links to good songs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g555DkvLESo&feature=related
  8. She's not, she's smokin' HOT. Yeah, ok... I really don't think she is that good looking, but to each his own. Carrie Underwood on the other hand...

That looks amazing. Is that an ice cream cone?
  10. Yeah country music isn't really country music anymore. I mean there is a rapper named Colt Ford who says he is country. :-?
  11. You like them? I have a buddy that likes them, but I can't get into their music.
  12. Man, your listening tastes are WAY out there. I've never heard of any of them. The closest I can come is Hank Jr. If you like Hank Jr., I have a feeling you would like Jamey Johnson. Try to search for High Cost of Living, Lonely at the Top, or Between Jennings and Jones. Those are a couple of my favorites by him.
  13. I wish country singers today were actually country singers. The only ones I can listen to are Jamey Johnson, Justin Moore, and Hank III. All the rest are too poppy in my opinion.
  14. He is one of the best backs this year and that's all that really matters.
  15. He is one of the best players on the Cowboys this year, but that really isn't saying much. He has been good in the past, but that doesn't matter because it's in the past. With that said, I am confident that he will bounce back as soon as Dallas gets their act together. There may not be five tight ends that are better than him when he is playing well, but there are a couple. Dallas Clark, Marcedes Lewis, and Antonio Gates are all better IMO.
  16. Austin is the best player on the team hands down. With regards to the comment about Witten being one of the best tight ends in the league, if you only factor in blocking, then this is true. He doesn't stand up to a lot of tight ends when it comes to actually getting yards and scoring points. And someone doesn't understand the game. Dallas hasn't targetted Witten as much in the red zone recently. Another problem with the offense. Witten is considered one of the top 5 TEs in the game and has been for some time. That's because Dallas doesn't get in the redzone.
  17. I honestly think they have a chance. I hate the Steelers, but they are a great team. Their defense is one of the best and they have a great quarterback in Roethlisberger. I am interested to see what they can do against the Pats this week. If they win, I think they will be in the superbowl.
  18. Owner Mosquito Hooks are hardly "cheaply made". The same can be said for Gamakatsu Splitshot/Dropshot hooks. I've never had a problem with them not being sharp enough to hook a bass or not being sturdy enough to pull a large fish out of the water. In fact, I've pulled out numerous 15#+ hard-fighting river carp out of very fast moving tailwater on a single Gamakatsu dropshot hook. These carp are used to swimming against extremely swift tailwater currents every single day to feed on food carried down to them from the dam so they are ridiculously strong. The only company with cheaply made hooks that I can think of is Eagle Claw. And they manufacture Trokars. And how the heck does an 18 year old have pockets deep enough to fish hooks that cost $2 a pop? Agreed! I used to fish Gamakatsu hooks, but I could just not afford to keep spending $4.50 per pack every other week (I got hung up a lot ;D). I switched to the BPS hooks and though they aren't as good, they get the job done just fine.

That doesn't necessarily mean that it's Rapala's fault.

I have tried a lot of different jerky including, wild boar, ostrich, and gator, and they were all good. I read the packaging later and realized that they were only 10% of the advertised meat and the rest was beef. I'm not sure if they do this when buying the stuff raw, but I would watch out for it.
  23. Nah, them's the "Jimmy Legs" A great Seinfeld episode. ;D ;D ;D
  24. At least you lost it after catching a great fish instead of a little dink. I would try for as long as possible to get back a combo if I lost one, but that's just me. Your not wasting anything trying to find it and at least you will be out on the water.
