  1. Very cool man, the temps have been above freezing here for the past few days so I am going to try to go to a power plant lake tomorrow. I hope to have some luck. That lake supposedly has some heavy bass and saugeye.
  2. I have played both, you will be VERY happy with this decision. Rapala has tons of action and 20lb bass but BPS games a lot more realistic.
  3. Nice fish, I actually like that color sandy colored body with blue head. Really helps that fish blend in with the sandy environment.
  4. Tackle warehouse has the big KVD bag on clearance for over 50% off. Solid deal.
  5. I really like the look of that first bass. Just about a perfect example of color and lateral line.
  6. I hope everyone has a great Christmas.

  9. Another fishing enthusiast could of introduced them to help fatten up the bass or take pressure off of the bluegill and crappie. It could very possibly be a natural lake houses were built around. How big is it? Are there any streams running in or out of it? Is it there a dam?

Thats a very nice spotted pig.
  14. Thanks again everyone. The weather was not to bad. I was dressed for it. TrippyJai, I was using a rapala husky jerk, a suspending jerk bait, and working it slowly. I was actually working it faster than I wanted but that was due to the chop on the water. The chop was bringing the bait back to me. So, I just would let it sit for about 10 seconds and reel up the slack then give the bait the slightest twitch then let it sit again. The fish where biting on the twitch.
  15. Very cool man! The water here needs to warm up about 30* so I can get back at it.
  16. wow, that largie is a toad. Nice man, very nice.
  17. Welcome, this is a great site for advice and tips.
  18. Thanks everyone I appreciate it.
  19. Thanks everyone. I was surprised to get so much action. All three of those bites came with in 10 minutes about 40 minutes before sun set. After landing the bigger fish I was too pumped up to worked the bait as slowly as I was before so I ended up leaving. 45 minutes fishing trip in the snow turned out all right.
  20. Excellent striper, are you using a heavier rig for these guys or using the same set up you use for black bass?
  21. Very nice. I wish the smallie fishing was better down here. have to stick to the rivers and creeks for the most part for smallies here.
  22. I keep hearing that our season is coming to an end soon here, so I went out today to try and hook up with a few more before the water hardens. I have only been bass fishing as a serious hobby for a couple years now so I figured I would go out and try on some of the winter techniques I have learned about. Well I only need one, the husky Jerk I started with. Weather.com Temp 32o with 6" of snow on the ground and snow still coming down. I didn't get a weight on this guy, really wish I would have. But when I go out it seems I have to always forget something and today was the scale. Just glad it wasn't the camera. I hooked up with another big girl that bull dogged me all the way. I got her to about 6' out when it gets really shallow and she pulled off and slowly swam away. I threw a tantrum then realized there was a woman about 20' from me taking pictures of the nice snowy lake back ground. She must of enjoyed that.
  23. If there are big fish in your water then obviously they are still there. They will eat year round. now that its colder what I have noticed is to not go to where you were catching the big ones in the summer or fall. Go to those spots that do not seem to hold big fish but always produce some small fish. The big guys move into those spots to try and fatten up. These spots are usually full of bait fish like blue gill. Thats why the smaller bass are there year round. In the summer the big guys are out trying to bust the big shad.
  24. Thats a nice first chunker. Not sure about the spot or largie thing but I have been confined to bank fishing so far so I can appreciate the wet close and muddy shoes. I only get on a boat ever so often. Its a lot different. I feel it will be a big change if I ever get access to a boat regularly. I am right now more confident fishing on the banks.
