  1. Right on the money. Carolina rig you'll probably need 3/4 to a 1 ounce wieght. Spinnerbait I would slowly, slowly crank it. Almost jig it in a way. What this will do is keep the blades spinning a little bit but will allow it to get down there where you need it.
  2. Sorry if I am repeating anything but, If the pond is grassy on the bottom use a half to a foot and a half leader, with a half ounce wieght, glass bead, and brass bead. If it is rocky use a foot and a half to a 3 foot leader. Since it is a pond with no current half ounce is all your gonna need. Personally though, 3 feet may be too long use at the longest, a 2 and half foot leader. I personally like smaller baits so I would go with a zoom baby brush. Watermelon magic or candy if it is clear or a black red glitter in dirty water. If you're gonna use bigger baits use a zoom ol monster or a rage tail. When it comes to setting the hook, do not do it like a texas rig. You need to have a firm sweeping motion. If you feel it hit stuff on the bottom let it stop, give it a sec, reel up to it and repeat. If you feel a bite do not set the hook on the first tap give a couple of taps, reel up to it, let the rod load up and set the hook. Oh to explain why i said brass bead: the weight is gonna clack up against the glass bead and with the brass the glass will hit and also the brass will be a spacer between the glass and the swivel.
  3. Hey if you are looking at a mid 90s champion there's something you need to know. Very fast and light but thats its downfall. Dad had a 98 and the hull started falling apart in the first couple of years and since it was still under warranty he got a 2001 201 champion. The hull is alot tougher and the one he got in 2001 has gone through alot and is still holding up. I say if you find one, get a champion they are great boats I would just go for a early 90s or early 2000s
  4. Yes I know this. I knew what they were biting cause I had prefished a couple of days before but what I didn't know is where they had moved to. Conditions are never the same the next day.
  5. Spinnerbait hands down. Very versatile bait to where it's just not a reaction bait but can be used in different ways but in a reaction strike situation, it's deadly.
  6. Didn't do good at all this last tournament. First tournament I'd ever zeroed in. Caught some Smallies but not one met the length requirement and now I'm out of the points race..... BETTER LUCK NEXT YEAR
  7. Yea that really sucks that he died. But side note, you were in a Gumball Rally?
  8. Go back on this forum and read as many threads as you can. Doing this may save you some trouble because a lot of people, like yourself, jump the gun on the subject of sponsors with out really thinking about it. I know this because at one time I did this. Here are some questions you need to ask yourself: What differs you, not just from people your age, but everyone else out there looking for a sponsor? Are you a people person? Can you for sure, not just market the companies product, but market yourself? Do you have tournament experience? Do you have knowledge of the companies products? These questions are very vague and there is still alot you have to think about. So again think through things before you start getting all excited. p.s. I really did not want to bring this up because I am also guilty of this, work on your spelling and writing cause without it, you are pretty much of no use to any company. Education is Key!!
  9. Big Brush hog with a pegged weight, Live target frog, spinnerbait if you fish it right.
  10. I said won, idk why it posted 2 for the one I originally did and my edited one.
  11. I'm not familiar with the area you are fishing but I think I can help you with spinnerbaits. As a beginner I would just start off with a 3/8 tandem with big willow small colorado and a chartruese/white skirt. Probably be best for the willow to be gold and the colorado to be silver. This combination is a perfect all around set-up for a spinnerbait cause your getting pretty much everything you need. That skirt color is good in most types of water clarity and the blade combination should give you a good amount of flash and vibration.
  12. You can say Brad Keselowski drives like Sr but I personally don't like him cause he acts like a punk off the field. Brad won yesterdays race but who was behind him? Jr. is third in points right behind jimmie by 1 point he has a chance this year to win the championship. For someone who hasn't won a race this year he has been farely consistant in the top 10.

  14. Man get a Tacoma. Good ride, realiable vehicle, and good gas milage. If you get the tow package it should be able to pull a 20ft or less bass boat.
  15. Yea the only one that isn't flooded or completely wiped out. You could probably guess it starts with H and ends in orseshoe haha
  16. Not sure think 2.5 or 3
  17. She hit a lilly pad and missed it then I threw it back where she blew up on it and she held it.
  18. Went and this is what I caught. Caught it on a livetarget frog that a member on here gave me. I'm extremely happy I finally was able to catch something with it.
  19. I'm going to a place that has a bunch of cypress trees and lilly pads tomorrow and I wanted to know if what I'll be using is right. Buzzbait Chartruese Spinnerbait 10" Ol Monster Worm Big Finesse worm Topwater Frog Baby Minus Square Bill Punch Jig
  20. First 2 have happened before and the "intimidation" happens alot. I remember Jamie Mcmurray or Kevin Harvick said during a race on the radio towards the end of the race "oh $%!^ it's Jr" when they realized he was speeding up behind them. Guys get scared when he is in the rearview mirror. It has been awhile since Jr won a race and no he has never won a Championship but i do not think championships make the driver. Look at Mark Martin for example, he has never won a championship but is still one of the best drivers out there.
  21. He got wrecked out trying to get to the front. He was drafting with Tony Stewart but everytime he would try to past Tony would get out of the draft with him and let Jr fall back. If Stewart had let Jr get around it would had been different and Jr probably would have not wrecked and actually could have had won the race.
  22. I mean for awhile it was him, Kevin Harvick, and Matt Kenseth duking it out. Right now all three of them are about tied with Career wins with JR with 18, Matt with 18 and Kevin Harvick with 17 and the races Kevin Harvick has won this year had JR up front. One he beat him towards the end and the other JR ran out of gas. Based on statistics out there, there are better drivers but I personally think theres no one out there right now that drives the way JR does. He drives like his dad and I don't think there are many out there that drive as aggressive has he does.
  23. Anyone been fishing any of the lakes in around Lexington like Beech, Pine, or Pin Oak? Any help will be appreciated.
  24. Probably get crucified for this but, Jr actually is a pretty good driver compared to other drivers. When he started out he won 2 back to back Busch Series Championships and won a race at TX his first full year in 2000. What seems to me though, he isn't consistant as much as he should be. If he is on top it won't be for long cause it just seems like something is bound to happen to where he drops off. Like one year he was number one in points and got the pole at the race because of a previsional and in the first lap he got taken out and then the one year he was doing good until he got in the corvette accident and he couldn't finish a couple of races. He just has pure bad luck.
  25. Yea I know it was pretty bad for awhile
