  1. He catches more walleye and white bass than I do every year from the pictures I see on FB all the time
  2. Welcome to the forum.
  3. There's been a couple times this year that I had 15 strapped to the front deck of my little 15' johnboat, which only leaves another 7-9 combos at home in the garage
  4. I've caught dropshot fish in 2' of water next to shallow docks a few times.
  5. I have the immune system of a cockroach after all the mess I come into contact with at work I'm super cautious about germs and stuff at work though. Fishing not so much. I clean cuts and stuff when I get home from fishing, but other than that I just rinse my hands in the water and call it good.
  6. The cuts on the north side. One of my favorite spots on my favorite smallie lake, Cbass knows what I'm talking about The docks on the southeast end. One of my favorite largemouth lakes that is small but loaded with docks. The southeast end has dozens of docks, only a select few people know the 3 docks I'm talking about when I say that though. I had almost 12 pounds in 3 fish the first time I took Cbass12 to "the docks on the southeast end". The pond in Baldwin. Lots of ponds in Baldwin, only one I've found that's worth fishing.
  7. There used to be a dragonfly lure that ran back and forth on a line above the water to target those fish. Obviously it worked well since it's no longer in production. I've seen them do it lots of times, especially in ponds.
  8. On a day when the jig bite is on, I'm expected to lose at least half a dozen almost every time. That's why I have to carry a few hundred of them with me at all times
  9. I have to be at work at 11:45pm, so I get out before once in awhile. I get off work at 8am, so I go after pretty often.
  10. I bought a 1000 pack of black platinum Lil Nasties. Going to pour this week and give them a try. They're very strong feeling for #1 hooks and very sharp so I'm thinking they will work well.
  11. I believe the state of Kansas considers a body of water a pond if it's under 30 acres. We do have some state lakes just bigger than that so maybe that's why the cutoff is 30 acres.
  12. Where's the dislike button? That sucks man, hopefully you'll have a speedy recovery.
  13. I would like to be a muskie guy, closest lake with muskie is 2.5 hours away though.
  14. It's Chris' super secret pond, have to get that intel from him.
  15. Bone colored Super Spook jr hands down.
  16. Most turtles aren't going to bother your baits, don't worry about them if you haven't caught one yet.
  17. Fixed your post for you since there's obviously 2 post above your's from Thursday. We fished the west end past Turkey Point, bone super spook jr was best in shallow areas with the wind blowing in. Lots of monster white bass and smallmouth up to 3.28 pounds. Better??
  18. It was 62.5 to 64 yesterday.
  19. Nope, just a neighborhood pond the first week of January a few years ago.
  20. It's a public body of water, you have just as much right to it as they do, don't worry about if you're scaring birds off or not. I duck hunt and it's just part of life. I'd much rather deal with people in a boat fishing than other hunters trying to setup over our spread like happens so often on public water around here. I have more than one assist from scaring birds out of open water, down creeks, or out of coves to hunters while fishing.
  21. It's weird because they'll eat jigging spoons and tailspinners, just never seem to get them to eat the Silver Buddy. Sounds like you fish it on much lighter gear than I have so maybe I'm overfishing or overpowering the bait and that's why I'm not catching them.
  22. I'm not a kayak fisherman, but I'd highly suggest getting an automatic PFD as well. Especially as the water cools in the fall, if you happened to tip into cold water, it's amazing how fast you lose the dexterity in your fingers and might not even be able to get a manual one to deploy. A friend of mine fell in just after ice out several years ago and was in the water less than a minute before I got him back onto the bank. Water temps were in the low 40's and air temps were in the mid 50's. Even despite the warmer air temps, I had to literally carry him to the truck because his knees wouldn't bend. Had he been alone he probably would have drown because his limbs quite functioning so fast.
  23. Done and done! If they play the rest of the series like tonight they're going to be tough to beat.
