  1. I use an actual nail. You can get a bunch of small nails for cheap from the hardware store and they make a little more noise than lead when they click against a rock.
  2. That sucks and I promise your guides feel awful. I've had a couple of those trips with folks that I did everything I knew to do to put them on fish and it just didn't happen, it stinks.
  3. Ned rigs, tubes, stick worms, drop shot worms, hula grubs, Rage Menace.
  4. What do you mean "When the bass won't bite"? Not something I'm familiar with ?‍♂️ I'll fish for anything. If I'm having a tough day, I have no problem switching to targeting another species if something else is being a more willing participant. Best case scenario, I can fish a bait that is catching bass really well AND catching other species of fish in process. Bycatch can be just as exciting as target species if you have an open mind.
  5. I've been checked quite a few times, even at some of the out of the way lakes. I use to get checked about every other time I fished Wyco, even during the Wednesday night tournaments a couple times.
  6. Bag of jerky in between fishing spots around lunch and I'm good.
  7. Did you call them? That's the way easier and faster way to get yourself taken care of. The 1 St. Croix I've had break, which was not their fault but I used their replacement program where I paid the replacement fee, I called them and had a new rod at my door in about a week. It's a very easy process and that way you're sure they know about you instead of wondering if anyone has even seen your email.
  8. Agreed. They have some rods that would fit into the specs you're looking for. https://stcroixrods.com/pages/victory?utm_source=BassResource&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=&utm_content=banner&utm_campaign=VictoryLaunch
  9. I have the same reel with 20lb flame green smackdown I use for Ned rigs. It cast a 1/16oz head with a TRD further that I need it to. Mine is on a 6' 10" ML/XF LTB rod.
  10. I was a Shimano guy until I tried my first SV Daiwa. Now I own 2 Shimanos, both swimbait reels and at least one of those is in danger when my 300 Tatula gets here.
  11. Yes they're a huge pain but I wouldn't want to be without one.
  12. I don't even own waders. Basketball shorts and Crocs or flip flops. I'll wade in some pretty cool water.
  13. Catch and release wasn't a thing back then and you didn't want to drop your catch ?‍♂️
  14. It's the opposite here. I could never fish a swim jig again and not miss them. I'd have a panic attack if you told me I had to go without my bladed jigs though. These fish will not eat spinnerbaits either because I almost always have both tied on and I can throw the spinnerbait and follow up with the bladed jig in the same spot and catch them. Spinnerbait is a whole different flash and vibration than a bladed jig.
  15. Bladed jig or a 185 Shine Glide.
  16. Personally, neither, but if you already have them I'd use the Bandito bug.
  17. I'm planning on doing the same with mine but with PVC.
  18. I've found that just because you can eat the whole family sized tub of potato salad by yourself, it doesn't mean you should ?
  19. Buy it online and save all the hassle of going to a store. You can download the app the state has for all your licenses to have it on your phone, and print copies. I print several so I have one in my wallet, one in my Stratos, johnboat, truck, bank fishing bag, where ever I feel I might need one.
  20. Yeah, put it on the bottom and barely crawl that thing and it is.
  21. Now I have to decide if I should keep or sell my 300E ?‍♂️
