  1. Welcome!

  3. The answer is always shallow for me. There's always fish shallow and that's where I'd prefer to catch them, so that's what I do.
  4. I found plenty of baits before all this stuff happened. These new people on the water aren't using anything worth finding anyways. Plus I'd bet along with a fair number of fish going home with them, some are finding baits that have washed up that I'd have found if they hadn't been there. The only positive I see is the one Tom mentioned of kids getting out and new people being exposed to the sport. Not everyone is trashing the lakes and having a negative impact, those are just the ones that are easiest to notice.
  5. It gets better for me during the summer months when the weeds get well established ?‍♂️
  6. I use them on a bladed jig more than a regular jig but they work well on both.
  7. I have 2 of the newer model 100's, 1 I use for frogging and 1 I use for jerkbaits, no problems or complaints with either one.
  8. My spinnerbaits are made up of probably 3/4 War Eagles. It's a simple question for me, would I rather catch more fish or fewer fish? The War Eagle catches more fish for me, end of story, not even close either.
  9. Yes it is possible to use one on a spinning rod/reel. I use the micro and mini chatterbaits that are 1/16 and 1/8oz on spinning gear but have used up to 3/8oz ones before.
  10. Still has 2 years left on his contract so it's technically a 12 year deal plus incentives for reaching the AFC Championship game and winning MVP. Hopefully they'll figure something out with Chris Jones in the next week now that Mahomes deal is done and they know how much money they have to work with.
  11. 6 ratio for me also. Using a 6.3 Tatula SV right now.
  12. I have a couple and they've been great rods for the money. One is even worked into my starting lineup as my spinnerbait rod.
  13. Spinnerbait only occasionally gets a trailer. Bladed jig always has a trailer. Jig always has a trailer except maybe a hair jig in really cold water.
  14. Did an after work trip this morning my yak to the local mud puddle. Only 56 acres but I paddled from the ramp on one end to as far up the creek as I could go, it was a lot further than I thought it would be, but I knew there would be fish at the very back of that creek where the water runs in and I was right! Even if it was only 1 fish ? Crazy to see that super clear water back there when the rest of the lake has a couple inches of visibility. Big fish of the morning was a 3.89 and ate a black and blue homemade bladed jig in some grass like most the rest of my fish did.
  15. Welcome!
  16. Well after a month of messing with the thing, Lake made the announcement tonight was the night, he wanted to do the string to the doorknob trick with his loose tooth. I was pretty shocked, didn't think he'd go through with it. Used some 12lb braid and he barely hesitated when I told him to slam the door and it popped out real easy. He was almost as proud as I was. It was a big deal for him losing his first one.
  17. It's a rock bass or goggle-eye.
  18. Welcome!
  19. Personally, if I was going to get an "all around", type reel from Daiwa, I'd get a Fuego for $30 less than the Tatula. I have a few and they're great reels. The Tatulas and SVs are very nice also, I save my SV for reels I want the cast control with though.
  20. I think more than anything it's personal preference. Each line has different characteristics so it becomes what you like in a line personally.
  21. You will be very disappointed in a M/F Premier for the techniques you intend to use it for IMO.
  22. The YUM Tip Toad works really well, comes in lots of colors, is really durable, and very affordable.
