  1. I've been favoring the 2 tap since it came out basically. Traps are very popular here becauseof the abundance of white bass fishermen. So I'm a big believer in that different sound getting me more bites. Maybe the 2 tap feels heavier because the tungsten is denser than the BBs in the standard, like a tungsten bullet weight of the samexperience size as a lead weight feels heavier because of it's density.
  2. New lake record yesterday, ounce shy of 11 pounds.
  3. Lake has been going crazy asking me to go fishing several times a day lately, so I took him across the road and asked the neighbors if we could fish their pond. Of course nobody could say no to that face he caught a dozen in the hour we were there, including half a dozen decent ones, this one being the largest and his new PB on a wacky rig!
  4. 83 degrees and light winds, take your pick. I'm getting the urge to try Olathe or Hillsdale. I didn't see any but the water temp are getting close. The monster that got caught out there yesterday looked like she was about to pop.
  5. I've almost filled the first 3700 box of the year with found baits already. Found a Rogers Big Jim last time out and a brand new Sammy in American Shad color.
  6. I bought several lipless and they've worked fine.
  7. Top two are mine, bottom two are my BIL's,. Not sure what he used, but mine are ST36. They're very close to the weight of the stock hooks. Not much changes except the hooks are a lot shsrper.
  8. The small hook is a major part of where they get their very subtle action. The baits are so soft that they collapse easily to expose the small hook, and the small hook resist snags amazingly well. I've landed lots of big bass, and a flathead over 20 pounds on the little hook.
  9. Have you tried a Punch CrawZ as a Ned Rig bait? It comes in green pumpkin blue flake. It's a slower fall, but an awesome Ned Rig bait. I'd never thought about it until a local guy had 2 over 5 and 2 over 7 on it one day last year.
  10. All broken during the retrieve. Also lost a Lucky Craft Slender Pointer in Misty Shad.
  11. He's a great kid, and really seems to be getting the hang of it fast for being only 3 years old. Already using spinning gear and hooking and reeling in fish on his own. I hope he decides to stick with it as he gets older. Not hardly a day goes by that he asks me to take him fishing. Makes me one proud daddy
  12. You'll never be more popular than the day you buy a boat.
  13. La Cygne was slow as expected Thursday, but at least when I got one it was pretty nice. 1 fish short of a limit and a couple more shorts.
  14. Had a slow day Thursday, which I expected the day after a massivery 5 day cold front left the area. On the plus side, most every one I caught was a nice one. Had 4 keepers for 14.56 pounds, all on jerkbaits.
  15. Welcome back Savage Gear! Just bought several popping frogs, a weedless mouse, and one of the new 4" 3D bluegills a couple days ago. Of course the Shine Glide has been my #1 swimbait again this winter
  16. Bassresource is against all forms of illegal activity, trespassing including. If you're going to fish a neighborhood pond, you need to get permission first, end of story. 1 person sneaking into a pond will likely ruin everyone's chances of getting permission to fish a pond.
  17. I bought a dozen packs of KVD Rodents for $3 a bag today.
  18. Power plant lake in the middle of winter on a nice day when everyone has cabin fever, you can about step boat to boat. I know there was one day this winter there was over 40 boats in the roughly 200 acre area where the warm water discharge has any effect. I work during the weekend, so if I see 10 other boats, it's busy.
