  1. River2Sea Bubble Walker 80 has been a killer for me this year. Cast a mile and walks super easy. Great hooks and hardware too so they're ready to go out of the package. It's basically the same as a Megabass Popmax, but half the price.
  2. We have several lakes with zebra mussels, some with curly-leaf pondweed, white perch, and of course the Asian carp. The state recommends a 1 week wait period in between trips to allow your boat to thoroughly drain and dry. I keep a bottle of bleach/water mix to spray down my bilge and livewells because I usually don't have a week between trips. If I'm going from an infested lake to a noninfested lake in less than a week I'll often go to the carwash to spray her down too. I don't think it will matter in the long run, but I do what I can to slow down the spread.
  3. That's a cool video and I can say from experience I agree 1000% that the average bass angler has no idea how labor intensive making baits is. I'm just glad I don't have a 20 step painting process to do each time
  4. So maybe you can answer the question that's been killing me forever, what exactly is "That", that you won't do for love??
  5. Fishing the Everglades is one of the coolest fishing experiences I've ever had
  6. I believe it's suggested that you get your forage fish established before you ever add any bass to the pond so they don't eat themselves out of house and home right away.
  7. I have one on my Maxxum and it is without a doubt quieter. I don't know about the heat thing but it makes it easier to get my prop off now that I can just grab it with my hand instead of hunting down pliers to do it.
  8. Having grown up in the position of depending on what you shoot to have something to eat, they may "prefer" one over the other, but if the third option is going hungry you'll eat whatever you can get.
  9. I have no problem with lion hunting, but the way they went about it sounded very unethical to me. Not only dragging a bait to get it out of the area where it was protected, but then taking 40 hours from the initial shot until the finishing shot tells me it was a very poorly placed arrow to begin with. Most likely that lion only had a year or two left in his life, and usually their end is much more gruesome, but the people who are worked up to a froth over the deal don't care about that.
  10. Yep, like others said, worry about the accuracy, that's the important part. I can pitch a long ways in the back yard, but it probably couldn't do it very accurately.
  11. Is it turning over? or not doing anything at all? First two things that come to mind, make sure the battery is hooked up and make sure the kill switch isn't turned off.
  12. If you like fishing shallow, stained water you have to have some bladed jigs, jigs, and buzzbaits. I love suspending jerkbaits in the spring and fall so I'd have to agree with that suggestion too.
  13. Frogs are one bait that I really don't believe that bigger baits equal bigger fish. I've never seen a fish even go after an adult bull frog. In fact, if there's big bull frogs in an area there never seems to be any fish in the area with them. I saw a picture on FB a little while back of a guy whose son had completely ripped apart a brand new weedless 68 Hudd. I hurt a little bit for that guy. In both cases just be thankful the little guys didn't get a hold of a hook in the process.
  14. I still haven't done much with my spybait but I probably haven't given it a very fair shot either.
  15. Yes it was. That Candy Purple color looks great with a PB&J Zinker. I think I've got a weedless version perfected but I haven't had to fish a Ned hardly at all this year so I haven't had much of a chance to test them.
  16. I know I'm in the minority but I tried it and hated it. Tried to use 8lb on my shakyhead rod for 30 minutes before I took it off. One of the stiffest, thickest lines I've ever used. Reminded me of the first run of Iron Silk. No idea if it was strong or not, I couldn't feel anything to set the hook on.
  17. Usually the spawning wear and tear on a bass' tail is on the bottom half of the tail like this one, That looks like something I see pretty often when it gets hot out that I assume is just an infection but not positive if that's what it actually is.
  18. Both depending on a lot of different things.
  19. Been slipping pretty bad on posting reports on here lately I guess. I night fished Cedar Valley Wednesday night/Thursday morning. Fishing sucked, 6 bass all night along with about 3 dozen channel cats and half a dozen each sunfish and drum and 1 big crappie. It's amazing how one fish can make a trip worth it though, 5lb 9oz at 2:30 in the morning.
  20. Boom! Actually the fishing sucked really bad, 6 bass all night, but I wasn't out there to catch numbers either. Black and blue War Eagle at 2:30 in the morning.
  21. Did a little night fishing Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Minus the nearly 3 dozen channel cats I caught on my bladed jigs and spinnerbaits, I caught 6 bass. 5 of them were less than a pound, one of them was my biggest of the year so far I hate night fishing during a full moon, but the plus side to the normally slow fishing is that I usually get a shot at a big one during a full moon. Slammed a black and blue War Eagle right as it was coming over a log and gave me all she had at 2:30 in the morning, 5lb 9oz. Right when I caught her. Our morning photo shoot at the ramp before telling her goodbye.
  22. Pretty impressive really.
