  1. Are you talking about the wire where it's actually connects to the battery? If that's the case, a lot of automotive supply stores will have all kinds of connections whether you're wanting to connect them to the post or threaded post.
  2. I use a whole Pit Boss on occasion and it works pretty well.
  3. Wacky Rig T rig buzzbait bladed jig trap
  4. $10! I'll do it to knock a T rig lose
  5. Agreed, get a Pfluegar President and a nice rod in the $100 range or even less and you'll be good to go. I have a Stradic CI4, they're great reels, but I also own several Presidents and they're built like tanks while being smooth and very functional. I like to pair mine with Academy Ethos rods that are on sale for $40 pretty often, so I can get a complete combo for around $100 that will easily do everything you've described.
  6. Jon actually put the hurt on me with a wacky rig. After all this rain though, that might not be a good option anymore. I couldn't get a bite on a jig and barely managed 2 dinks on a shakyhead, just seemed like they were looking up that day.
  7. If a bass is in a lake that has no trout, what does it think when it sees a trout bait? My guess is it thinks "I could eat that".
  8. You're probably not going to be able to get away with the same combo for a Deps 250 as you are for a 68 Hudd. Something in a high 5's to mid 6's in gear ratio is probably going to be optimum.
  9. Put some fingernail polish sealer on that crack and it should keep the water out and you can go back to fishing it.
  10. Looks like a productive spot. I don't know about December being the worst month in Kansas. February has historically been the toughest month for me in Kansas.
  11. It will probably do it, but I wouldn't want to fish one with a casting rod. Main reason is I hold a casting rod in my left hand and I can't control my left hand well enough to impart the subtle action on the bait like I can with my right hand (spinning gear).
  12. I've done well for smallmouth fishing a tube as my dropshot weight. Never tried a jig as my weight though.
  13. Lucky Craft Slender Pointer 97MR has caught me more trout than any other jerkbait.
  14. Sounds to me like you're fishing a standard shaker blade as it comes in the package.
  15. Crankbaits are great for finding weedlines. When you catch grass, keep moving off the bank until you stop catching it, viola! you found your weedline. Garmin makes the 151dv which is a nice little unit with down view in your price range. For a little more than you said you could get the 301dv, which is a color unit instead of black and white.
  16. As skinny as those fish are, I'd say you're looking more spawn/post spawn than prespawn. Very nice fish.
  17. Sounds like a great time and some great pictures!
  18. Send me a PM with what types of lures and stuff you're looking for, I might have some I can donate to them.
  19. Stained water is stained water in my book.
  20. The Big Bite Baits Cane Thumper is pretty close.
  21. Scroungers and bladed jigs are 2 very different baits. Scroungers are very subtle baits that excel in more clear water situations while the bladed jigs have a strong vibration and bulkier profile that are better suited for stained to muddy waters or for calling fish out of heavy cover.
  22. I use 20lb fluoro on my big jig rod almost 100% of the time.
  23. One of my favorite lakes it's not unusual to catch a largemouth, smallmouth, spot, green sunfish, channel cat, walleye, white bass, crappie, and drum all in the same day on the same bait. I call a day like that the Melvern Slam
  24. I've owned a lot of different types of spinning reels, never broke one like that. I'd think they'd almost have to have some serious impact with something that caused some damage prior to them breaking.
