They're Getting Better
Those River 2 Sea Bubble Walkers come with Daiichi trebles and weigh half an ounce, I promise I was hooked if that bait hit me. I'm pretty helpless when it comes to electronics, and even I'm able to use the Virb with ease. I push the power button, then slide the giant record button forward, the light goes from green to red and I try to catch a fish Like I said, still a work in progress. It's surprising how much you can learn about your own fishing style from watching yourself fish. I really like the Virb. I just got the wristband that allows me to start/stop recording remotely as well as take still pictures. I think that's going to help improve them quite a bit as well.

Ever Take Your Dog Fishing?
This comment made me think of this picture, that pretty well describes my dogs way of thinking as well.

Thurs Afternoon, Amazing Time
Looks like a good day. I don't like eating fish, but a pond like that certainly needs some fish removed from it once in awhile. I usually just look for the 12-15 inch range fish and keep all those unless I get one that looks particularly healthy, those are spared in hopes they're a future monster in the early stages. I know lots of people that like to eat fish, so giving them away is never an issue.

Miami/ft.lauderdale Area
Thanks for the tips on restaurants. I'll be with my wife so fishing is certainly not the main objective of this trip but peacocks are at the top of my list of fish I'd like to catch so if I get a chance I'd really like to try to catch one. Problem is, my wife is absolutely terrified of snakes and lizards, so unless I leave her at the hotel and go fishing (always a wise decision when you're on vacation together ), I'm not sure how much bank fishing I'd be able to do. Does anyone know of any guides that give a discounted rate if they aren't booked that day? I know some will do that occasionally to try to fill an empty spot. We can't really afford 300-400 for half a day of fishing.

Keeping Fish When Kayak Fishing
Usually on top of the head, right between the eyes will do the trick. You could use a small hammer I suppose. For most fish a well aimed smack from a pair of pliers will do it. You'll know if you hit the right spot or not.

Advice
Use the little inline floats they use for walleye spinners. I used to do this all the time with fathead minnows and nightcrawlers right after ice out as it was about the only way I could catch fish that early in the year.

I Just Have To Brag
That is awesome! We had to do the dummy drag as well in the academy. I'm 6' and 210 pounds and my legs were dead after dragging that thing!

Favorite Summer Baits
Big worms, creature baits, jigs, swimbaits, and deep cranks do a lot of work during the heat of the day. The same baits plus topwater when I can early and late or on cloudy days. Topwater during the heat of the day can account for some really big fish too.

Ok People, Out With It!
I can't think of a bait I haven't caught a fish on yet this year other than a creature bait like a baby brush hog or a big worm. Fish are wrapping up the spawn around here so it's pretty wide open how you want to catch fish. Topwater has been the ticket this past week with some fish coming on bladed jigs, beavers, spinnerbaits, and wacky rigs as well.

Today Was A Good Day
Congrats on the new PB but 3lbs 19ozs seems like a rather roundabout way of saying 4lbs 3ozs

What's Your Favorite Type And Brand Of Weight For Dropshotting?
I'm sure it will, and I fish some well known drop shot lakes (Table Rock, Bull Shoals, Beaver). I'll stumble into a fish every now and again, but I catch more fish each year on big swimbaits than I do a drop shot. It's not that I don't try either. I've got the gear from special hooks, weights, a rod and reel dedicated to dropshots, and a bag of small worms/minnows just for drop shotting. It makes sense 100% in my mind why it should work, it just rarely does for some reason.

How Long Does Line Last?
I'll use braid for a couple years if there's enough on the spool. Mono and copoly gets changed about once a month during peak season. Fluoro I usually get 2 or 3 months out of before I change it.

Rage Rig Buzzbait
A Havoc Pit Boss does this very well also. I like the Papa Pit Boss because it's easier to cast weightless and has a bigger profile.

They're Getting Better
Call it what you want, but courageous probably isn't the best description. I found the hook of a Dep's 175 Slide swimmer with the bottom of a toe last weekend. Thankfully it was so sharp that it just ripped the bottom of my toe open instead of burying. I've always been a fan of being barefoot since I was a kid. I've pulled so many stickers and thorns out of my feet from doing it you'd think I'd learn

Best Tubes?
Snack Daddy and Pour Boy when I can find them. Strike King Coffee Tube and Flipping Tube get a lot of use also and so do the BPS tubes. I wish the Havoc tubes had a solid head so I could use them for flipping.

They're Getting Better
I bought the power cable at the same time I bought the suction mount for it Worked out perfectly and keeps me from having to buy more batteries unless I want to use it somewhere other than my boat.

Keeping Fish When Kayak Fishing
I think the cooler is the best option. If you don't want to make noise when you put them in the cooler, use something to give them a pop on top of the head to kill them quickly before you put them on ice. It will keep them from flopping and from getting more stressed and more acid built up in them so they'll taste better. I'd probably do that anyways, better to get a quick thump on the head than freeze/suffocate I'd think.

Forum Posting Question. Help
If you're on a PC there should be buttons at the bottom of the other person's post that says "Quote". Just click on that and it should automatically put there comment into your comment box in. I think you might have to go to the full version on a phone to do it though.

They're Getting Better
This past winter I bought a Garmin Virb Elite, finally joining everyone that films their trips on the water. I'm not very tech savvy so there's been a lot of trial and error (mostly error), trying to figure out how to properly film everything and editing the videos. My first few attempts were from the bottom of the boat where not much could be seen. I recently bought a suction cup mount and moved the camera to my boat's windshield and it helped a lot with being able to see what was going on and even seeing some of the strikes. I probably need to get a microphone for it next. Some of the on the water commentary and shenanigans that go on in my boat are probably more entertaining than the actual fishing There's a couple pretty good examples of that in this video.

Grass Lines
It becomes kind of a "take a number and get in line" type deal. That's usually when I'll go do something else and hope I can find 5 bites doing something different while everyone else competes for the same fish.
