Today my 25-year-old granddaughter, who is drop-dead gorgeous, and weighs all of 110 lbs, passed the Florida State Firefighters test.  The physical part of the test consisted of her having to unload a 25' extension ladder from the truck, extend it to the second floor, and then climb into a smoke-filled room with her fire suit and 50 lbs of gear.  She then had to descend down a smoke-filled staircase, locate a 180 lb mannikin and drag him 50 yards to safety, all within a specified time frame, and she did it!  I'm so proud of her I could Pop!

That is awesome! Congrats to her.

That is awesome! We had to do the dummy drag as well in the academy. I'm 6' and 210 pounds and my legs were dead after dragging that thing!

Awesome that is a tough test.  When I was working out there was a young lady at the gym that would workout like a dog.  I asked her one day what was going on and she said she was training to be a sports fire and rescue paramedic.  She had to do the same training as a fire firefighter in that test but that 180lb dummy you mentioned, had to be picked up and carried up and down 4 flights of stairs.  This women weighed 125lb and could deadlift 275b.  She made it though.  She works for a company now that handles pro, college, and high school sports games.  It takes some serious dedication.
