  1. I have 2 set-ups for this application; GLoomis GL3 6-6 MH spinning rod and a Team AllStar 6-9 M trigger (Wacky Worm Rod). I tried a M spinning rod but like the MH better.
  2. C-rig all year long. This time of year during the prespawn, i like to drag either finness, trick, or centipedes across long secondary points adjacent to deep water. Later on, will throw to the bank and work out toward drop offs. I have even tied a small original floating rapala on and caught fish. As for the tungsten weights, i use 50 lb Power Pro with 20 lb floro leader. All the snsitivity I need. year end year out I catch my biggest fish with this rig.
  3. Uh oh, I heard the bait monkey growl at you.
  4. I have 2 of the BPS vertical wall 6 rod racks. Only thing is I cut one end off each and put them together. They are screwed into 1"x 2" wood strips that are mounted on the wall. This keeps them level. The last one I had like that wanted to lean forward with the mounting screws that came with it. I can put 12 rigs on it. I have an eight rod padded case I use for travelling. You can get them at BPS.
  5. Just bought a new Shimano Curado 200DHSV 7.0:1 on ebay ($147.50) and now the baitmonkey is screaming to get a rod. I was thinking about a GLoomis 7' MH crankbait rod. I want to multi use this rod/reel for lipless crankbaits, small-med crankbaits, and buzzbaits. Any comments or suggestions?
  6. I have the Chronarch 50 Mg on a 6-6 MH IMX that I use for t-rig and love it. I have a 7' Heavy IMX (844) with a Curado that I use for pitching. For my c-rig, I use a Titanium All Star 7' MH with 50 lb braid and floro leader on a Curado and it is sensitive enough. These are the old Curados, but I have a new one on the way. AS for the Chronarch vs the Curado .. Chronarch.
  7. Doesn"t Avid have the Steez or the Zillion?
  8. I have this in an IMX that I use for t-rig and pitching. My opinion, can't beat it.
  9. I really likes my Symetres and they seemed to hold up well on a couple of hawgs. ??? .. Is a tackle ho somewhat the bait monkey's b***h? .. Just wondering
  10. I own both and the IMX is well worth the extra $$$. I have a 6-6 MH in the GL3 and the IMX. The IMX is lighter and more sensitive. Try fatfishfarmer on ebay. A comparision is a 6-6 MH IMX for $156 + $25 S&H and the best deal locally I could get was $200.
  11. http://www.spotters-shades.com/ Try this site. They are pricy (about same as my reg glasses).
  12. Ok guys .. need opinions. I am ordering my first swimbaits (Mattlures) and have to put together a rig. I am thinking about using either a Shimano Catala 300, Calcutta 200, or Cardiff 300 mounted on an All Star Titanium 7' MH. I've found some goods deals on the reels and have the All Star as an extra. Looking to see what other people are using.
  13. SkiBum .. This is the best way to get in touch with Randall. The lakes they fish on the eastside are very good lakes with the opportunity to catch a 10+ bass better than average. http://www.fishatl.com/ FullPul and highSteel .. There are quite a few clubs located on the northside and westside of Atlanta that have monthly tournaments
  14. RellMech has sound advice as usual. My primary worm rig is a MBR844 with my backup a Team Allstar 6-6 MH. For jigs I use an All Star Titanium 7' H
  15. If it is better than the Cavitron, I might be peeking over your shoulder to get in his boat. If it is who I think you are talking about. But in the meantime, I will go woth Cavitron's and Picasso's.
  16. War Eagle and Hilderbrants normally, but since I have had good luck with Picasso buzzbaits, I am going to try their spinnerbaits.
  17. Spro Aruku Shad
  18. GLoomis MBR844C IMX Style Color New? Length Line Lure Action Power Cast Black Yes 1pc 7 0 12-20 1/4-1 Fast Hvy Suggested Retail : $260.00 FatFishFarmer Price: $180.99 = $25 Shipping
  19. I have the MBR844 in the IMX and love it. It is my primary t-rig outfit. Fat Fish Farmer has them at a good price.
  20. I use 50lb Power Pro for my Jig set up and 20 lb PLine Floro on my plastics set up for all pitching
  21. RW After reading the link and then putting my paws all over the reels and mounting on a specific rod (G Loomis IMX SJR782) I took your thoughts and got a Stradic ST2500FH. And decided since it felt so good, why not get the rod also. Then I saw a 6'0 Team All Star spinning reel there for 39.99 and thought that would be a good rod for skipping Senkos or Flukes under docks and low hanging limb. So I walked out with the IMX / Stradic and the All Star / Sahara. BAD MONKEY
  22. RW .. What's your opinion of the Sustain? I have 2 Symetres but have been looking at a Sustain to mount on an 6'-6" MH IMX.
  23. COngratulations JT. I know what you mean by certified for what they charge. Just to warn you. Mine has grown into a 2 1/2 yr old "largemouth" that is already too smart. Oh what you have to look forward to.
  24. For the price, can't beat it. I found one on sale for $59.
  25. If you can find an old Lews BB1N in good shape, grab it. Best crankin reel I ever had.
