  1. Well? Did anyone get cabin fever and go fishing? Let's hear about it.
  2. I was fishing an old reliable ridge with a creek close by for the numbers. 15' on top and around 20' on the sides. The nice one I lost was on a point that runs south with a south wind blowing into it. The point was a main lake point, the ridge was in San Miguel.
  3. I caught 17 yesterday from 10-2. Carolina rigged flukes and baby swamp hogs. Some were 10" fish and had a few 2.5-3 lb fish. Hit a wind blown point and hooked up with a nice one. It danced and threw my crankbait. It looked to be 5-6 lbs. Oh well, I got to see it.
  4. Welcome vjohn. A basic answer would be watermelon and variations of watermelon. Watermelon/red, watermelon/candy, etc. Another would be redbug. I've had luck with 6.5-7" redbug worms plus the zoom ole monster in 9.5" or 10.5". Good luck.
  5. Nice to see you back Dam Yankee. My last trip up was just after the cool front came through. Wind was strong out of the north/northeast. I found one of my 2X6's on my boat lift cracked so I had to get that fixed up, plus got a new mattress for our bed so I had to deal with that. I caught a few fish around 16-18 foot deep on a drop shot. I also went to a small pocket I found fish in a few years ago around this same time. About 1/3 of the way across the cove is a bunch of timber/brush laid out in a line going from 20' moving into the cove up to around 12'. I caught 3 on a PBJ football jig and another 3 on a crankbait that dives 10-12'. The next day I was leaving my cove but my engine never came up to temp (probably trash in my thermostats) so I fished a boat dock that has a bunch of brush. I caught one just a hair under 6 lbs. I moved to another side of the dock and noticed in the direction of our camp a big plume of white smoke. I took off for our camp and called the better half asking if the camp was on fire. Not the camp, but the woods maybe 50 yards and across the road were. Called 911 and once they arrived found out there were around 6 other fires along Hwy 1215 plus a couple on 191 by Lanan Bridge. No idea who started it, but with the breeze it was spreading pretty quickly. It smoldered for a couple days until we left. I'll be back in a few weeks. Good luck guys that are going.
  6. Thanks for the report LF. Good luck also. Thanks mguidroz.
  7. Wow, that takes a sorry POS to do that. Thanks for the heads up. Is that the launch at the bridge by Carlson's marine?
  8. Nice report June Bug. Looks like you had a good time. I'm also headed up Thursday evening for a week. Looks like the temps will be conducive to getting rid of the pile of limbs/branches that have fallen. Hope the front just fires them up! Good luck mguidroz.
  9. Has anyone heard or seen fish kills? I read a report of dead fish in the 1215 area and another guy finding an 8.5 lb'er struggling then dying in his livewell that had rejuvenate added. Hey B-Fanatic, great screen shots of that school of fish.
  10. Got just a little water in my house in the back bedroom. My AC unit had 2-3' of water & went out. Just got a new unit today & flood ins people will be here tomorrow. My better half's bmw z3 had 6+ inches of water in the floor board. Ripped up carpet today and hauled outside. Lots of neighbors are a lot worse off.
  11. I guess it fishing lighted boat docks, it might make it a little easier but I guess the deeper spots would be less pressured. Thanks Catt.
  12. Do any of y'all night fish the new moon? The way my schedule offshore falls during the summer, i'm home for the new moon.
  13. We'll be headed up in a couple of hours and stay until next Thursday. I usually spend most of my time north of Pendleton, but I may trailer down south probably after the 4th. I imagine it's going to be a zoo up there. Maybe I can get on some schoolers. Good luck to all that'll be up there and be safe.
  14. I have a couple of Columbia Freezer cap with the ear & neck flap. I bought a couple new ones through my wife's work but they aren't the same as the older ones, nor as good in my opinion. To me, keeping the sun off of your head, neck, and ears really helps.
  15. They sure do look more snag proof than a treble hook spoon. I just placed an order for some more yesterday afternoon. I'll see how long they last, but I'm not too confident with all the snags in the areas I've been fishing. Heck, I think there's more snags than fish!!!
  16. I know what you mean jc, the area I was fishing I hung up a lot. I only lost one, but I also lost my lure knocker on one hang up. Dang spoons cost almost as much as a 10 or 8 XD crankbait. I was almost tempted to cut off the bottom facing hook on the treble hook. JC, you're welcome to throw them by my swing at the boat house!!
  17. Good info. His rod is 7'7". The one I used last trip was just 7' & it was working me. I'm going to try my 7'6 next time. I know the feel of the bite because I've vertically jogged a slab spoon a lot & know they hit on the fall, usually. Thanks Little Fish
  18. For those of you that throw flutter spoons up to 1.5 ounces, what length and power rating rod do y'all use? Fluorocarbon? Mono? Copolymer? Thanks
  19. You're welcome. Too bad I can't help more with the fishing. Although I did attempt fishing with a 1 1/4 oz flutter spoon. Hung up often, but only lost one. Caught 2 white bass. This was on a main lake point north of Pendleton Bridge. This was last week.
  20. Man, that sucks. Hope you get it fixed soon. Ya need to learn the rubber hose trick.
  21. I was hungry!
  22. We caught a few yesterday mid morning shallow. Most on a big bite swim bait in shallow grass. Had a decent one dance & throw my swimjig that I had apparently casted into its mouth. When I engaged the reel, it was on! Late this morning we went out to one of my deep water spots. Caught 8 with 5 keepers plus 2 white bass on Carolina rigged flukes, drop shot & slab spoons. Came back to the camp just after lunch. Filleted the fish & ate with fries, onion rings, cucumbers, & fresh tomatoes. Now that the rain is passed, I'm gonna go back out for a bit.
  23. I've seen some reports on facebook of a frog bite and also a swimjig bite around the hay grass. Good luck.
  24. Good luck on the surgery Little Fish. I had neck surgery in '03 and it definitely helped me out. It does still bother me, but at that time I was losing function of my hand so it was time. I had put it off for around 10-15 years, but once I couldn't roll my right hand over to put shaving cream under my left jawbone, I knew it was time. Don't push it too soon, let it heal properly or you're asking for trouble.
