  1. B Fanatic, that's a good hurt to be recuperating from. I'm headed up Thursday evening for maybe a week. I guess I'll concentrate on deep water with plastics and deep diving crankbaits. I'm not sure if i'll stay north of Pendleton or trailer south. Hope to post a report either during or after I go. Ronnie
  2. Good luck Bryan and anyone else braving this weather. I was lucky to make it in from offshore this morning, flying 155 knots in a Bell 407 with a 30 knot tail wind. I'm so ready to get up there, but lots of honey-do's to do before I can. Y'all stay safe.
  3. I imagine by the time I get back up there, a floating rogue bite will be pretty good in addition to shallow crankbaits.
  4. My report for last week isn't a good one. I never got on a good bite. I did catch a few in the buck brush shallow in the 1215 area. Had a few get off, and straightened my owner 2/0 hook. I caught those shallow on a zoom speed craw. I caught a few in the cove my camp is on. My first morning I caught two 3 lb'ers on a chartreuse/white chatterbait with a swimbait trailer. Saw 60 deg + water and didn't see any shallow fish. Oh well, it was great weather most of the time. I probably should've trailered down south, but I seem to always say that. I hope my two weeks at work go as fast as my two weeks off. s
  5. I'll be going back offshore on the 22nd. Wish I could be there to meet y'all. June-bug, i'll definitely do that when i'm in that area. It's not too often, but I do plan on fishing the front end of palo gaucho soon. It sounds like you're in a great place to with many options. It seems like our little cove holds a lot of catfish too. That old nasty stink bait sure attracts them. Good luck this weekend.
  6. Thanks for the report june-bug. Isn't your camp around midlake? I'm on San Miguel. Headed up Thursday night for a week. Hope to give a good report. I'll probably be fishing midlake/1215 area. White basscat/yellow bolt/purple trim, stop and say hi if you see me.
  7. Welcome LSU and welcome back RNG. Thanks for the report. We're supposed to head back up there Thursday for a week. Offshore right now and it's killing me seeing all these big bass pics.
  8. I would get a small one in the top left of my laptop screen. I was able to X out of it while on topo, but on satellite view I can't seem to get rid of it.
  9. Very nice fish, and day, for that matter.
  10. http://mapper.acme.com/ Catt, Will this help?
  11. Zefman, Years ago I fished this spot during the spawn. I got there very early after launching my 15' aluminum boat out of Alpine. On the way I saw a bunch of boats at the Public launch at carrice creek. I got to that island/hump, started fishing, then all those boats I saw started passing headed south. The boat lane heads N/S then turns E/W. Well, it felt like I was in a washing machine, waves coming from 2 different directions. I sure learned my lesson!! I did catch a few on suspending jerk baits at that time. Another time, around May that year, I caught a few throwing a Carolina rig into the creek channel and working it back shallow. It might be a good night time spot since (at that time) there was no vegetation. You might want to probe that inside section of the creek channel where it makes that hard bend.
  12. Fishing north or south Bryan? I heard another report of fish being caught shallow north.
  13. Good job Bryan!
  14. Tmac, I sent you a message.
  15. Good luck wagon. Hopefully I'll be up there later this week through the weekend.
  16. Hope so too. I'll be chunking! Ronnie
  17. I'm planning on heading up Friday afternoon/evening, just in time for the front. Oh well, the air may be cold but I'll t still chase 'em. Maybe the deep fish won't be affected too much. Thanks for the reports Bryan, JC, and B Fanatic. Ronnie
  18. Very nice fish. That place can be scary when the fog sets in.
  19. That's great man. I hated to see you get out of BC, but ya do what cha gotta do. Congrats on the boat.
  20. What kind are you going with Josh?
  21. Did anyone do any good in the rain this past weekend? I still have a week offshore, but plan to get back up there soon after I get in. My last trip up, 2 weekends ago, I spent about 7 hours fishing in the rain. Caught 15-20 with a bunch being 12-14 inches, flukes worked on top like a spook, chug bugs, & yellow magic. I also spent a few hours in my little cove and caught 17, most on a small squarbill and a few on a one knocker rattle trap like bait. The biggest was a 3.5 on the YM and a 3 on the square bill. My buddy had a 6+ come off a chug bug just before getting it to the boat. A few fish were also caught on a red bug straight tail worm.
  22. Bryan, Thanks for the report. Flutter spoons or slab spoons? You're more than welcome to do my yard next!! Haha
  23. Count me in on the blown engines. I blew mine Thursday headed back to the camp. 14 year old Opti, so I'm leaning toward repowering. Sorry to hear of the other blown engines.
  24. Did you run the river to Martinez? I went to Brittany a few months ago, and had a blast, but had to idle from the red/green in the middle of the lake with big rollers coming from the south praying I didn't come down on a stump. My boatlanes chip showed a lane across the lake, but I was too scared to run it. I should be up at the camp in 2 weeks.
  25. I like summer also. The weather's usually a little more stable except for those pop up showers.
