  1. He mentioned dual braking system, no Curado I ever owned had a dual braking system. Revo STX and Premiers have dual. I know there are some others but Curado and Citca are not them.
  2. Sure that will work. I typically prefer a bit lighter leader. I never go over 15lb. I do go down as small as 8lb leader at times to. Just depends where Im fishing. I dont use braid though. Carolina Rig fish usually swim off with the bait, so getting a good hook set is pretty easy to do.
  3. Thats perfect for the MH flip. I wouldnt go over 1oz with it. Any bigger and the H would be a better bet. Im going with 2 of each. ;D Id suggest that 7'3MH for pitching, but you may prefer a 7ft rod. Most of my punching is done with 3/4 oz so I should be fine. I think you can play a big fish a little better wih MH vs a H so I dont want the broomstick unless I really need it. If I break one horsing a fish out of the grass though then I will prob regret going with the MH. We will see how it goes. I may just go with the 7'3" for pitching plastics for the better hookset. I dont think there will be a breaking issue at all. I was saying that because I use 1.5oz and 2oz quite a bit. Its more about being able to pitch accurately, and a 2oz weight on the MH would be over powering. You will be fine with 3/4, and Id horse fish, these rods are tough and strong.

  5. You are exactly right. Basically what this means is you can compare 6lb 100% to any other brands 8lb. If there are any doubts that 100% is the best, just ask the Elite series guys, and the FLW Tour guys, 100% is the most used line at the highest level, meaning they trust it to make their living. At the FLW CUp this past year atleast 4 of the top 6 were using 100%, including Larry Nixon who was throwing braid/fluoro combo I believe. I wonder how many of those top 4 anglers were sponsored by Berkley. I was wondering the same thing. : Guess that speaks for itself, the guys throwing Berkley Trilene made the top 6. Sounds good to me. To each their own, I am confident with 100% fluoro Trilene.
  6. I was thinking the same thing at first. My 7'3 MH Casting rods arrived yesterday. To me they are perfect senko and jig rods, and texas rig rods. Ill use them more then any other rod. Of course everybody is different. I hae to always consider that I may hook a 10+ on the next cast. Once I got a reel, line and bait on the rod it felt like a MH. I should add that Im a line watcher when senko fishing. yea i was just saying most people like that action rod for senko fishing.. But i agree with you i have two senko rods one is a 7ft heavy action rod i use for throwing around timber and brush which down here on the bend there is alot of timber!! but there is also huge flats and when im fishing flats i throw a senko on a 7'6 power tackle rod pg 104.. its better on the flats for making long casts and the length also helps get a good hook set on those long cast Yeah a senko is so darn heavy that you can cast and fish it with just about anything.
  7. The MH is awesome. I put Revo Premiers on the 7"3 MH and is balances fine even with the feather weight reel. All of the Veritas rods seem to balance just fine.

  9. is there a coupon code when I order?
  10. I have Shimano from Sahara to Stradic, Diawa Excelor, and Soron STX. I prefer the Soron. The Diawa is my second choice and the Shimano would be a distant third.
  11. Ill post something up once I get my Verdict shipment, but I think it'll be a month.
  12. Aside from Mark Zona's show I find most are pretty boring, that said I still watch many of them. Watching fishing is just not as exciting and actually fishing. I will say that on another site many folks said it was good.
  13. Only gift I got was a fishing lic. But seeing my grand kids was priceless. I really had no wants or needs this year fishing wise. I had recently purchased 4 Revo Premiers, 4 STX's, 7 Veritas rods. In addition to that I scored big on the Black Friday sales with $700 worth of terminal tackle and baits.
  14. Just another knock off. Im sure it will work, but there are so many knock off senko type baits that it'll be hard to convince the fishing community that its worthy. Not sayin they are not nice. Just that Ive bought and tried alot of knock offs(on alot of baits), there is a reason they are knock offs.
  15. Interesting the number of folks suggesting Oakley's. I have a pair, and they were not cheap. They are by far my least faorite and only used if there is no other option. I have Solar Bats, Costa Del Mar's, Cocoons, Eye Surrenders, Oakley's, Ocean Waves, Bucci, Scott, Maui Jims, and a few others I cant remember right now. I wear the Eye Surrenders the most, with the Costa's close behind. The Eye Surrenders are $39 with a great warranty.
  16. I prefer a Revo S for flippin and pitching, you can get em for under $100 on sale(but I know nothing of Gander MTN). Ive got 7 leftys for sale. ;D All Curados though.
  17. I have one tackle bag that holds 9 plano's. I rarely use it unless Im back seating for a day. I have about 60 plano boxes on shelves in my garage. In addition I have another 5 cabinet size units with 30 drawers full of tackle, and another 120 pegs on pegboard around the garage. My opinion is if you can only carry one bag with gear why get another bag. I use a day pak, book bag when walking the bank.
  18. Really nothing new. Just working on perfecting.
  19. You might wanna check out both 7'6 rods, there is a MH and a H. I also have a few of the 7'3MH and I wouldnt hesitate to throw deep cranks on that. So IM assuming the 7'6 MH would also be fine. I am getting some of the Verdicts as well, so hopefully they will arrive with in a month. I was gonna keep some of my Powell rods, but the more I use the Veritas the more of em I sell off.
  20. I just did mine this morning, its pretty easy to do. Im sure there are videos on you tube as well.
  21. Ill disagree. Well sort of. It depends on what your doing, how heavy weight, cover and so forth. I use both M and MH depending on what Im doing. M is typically a bit lighter line and weight. I see it as a jig rod as well. I dont wanna throw a 1/4 oz jig at 40ft deep on a MH rod, nor do I wanna throw a 3/4oz jig on a M. This is why we need a never ending supply of new rods(thats what I tell my wife). ;D
  22. The Revo is higher quality. Will last longer, better resale. You choose.
  23. Do you believe anglers only use their sponsors stuff? I am sponsored by them myself, but that was just a bonus cause I never would stray from the brand anyway. In the past Ive tried em all, loved PLine, except that I got seeral bad spools of line, so to me thats bad. I dont just fish for fun, I fish for money. Dependability is of up most importance. There were alot of anglers sponsored by other company as well, that didnt make the top 6, including locals.
