Avid I'm glad to hear you're back in the saddle. Maybe not at a full gallup, but able to get out anyway. Good luck with your recovery. I'm pulling for to get that 8+ while you're on the Fork roadtrip,or maybe you will get it from the bank in your home lake before you go?! 8-) Good luck.
  2. Tried Tilethamine, Zolazepam, Diazepam, Thorazine, Sadic Penthobarbital, Ketamine, you name it, the critter must be from some other planet cuz none of them woiked :-/; it 's impervious to all the known tranquilizers, sedatives and euthanesics available. It 's a hopeless case and the prognosis is really bad. Sounds like a symbiotic rather than parasitic relationship. After checking with Webster, I find you are correct sir! 8-) That is the ideer I was gittin at. The more I think about it, the more I think it may alternate between the two? : Sometimes symbiosis, sometimes parasitosis. ;D
  3. Risky, that is a very disturbing thought. : One man's dream is another man's nightmare. :-?
  4. I've gone on the record many times that I am a BIG pujols fan. I believe he is a good man both on and off the field. He does get frustrated at times and says things that don't need said, even if true. I can't throw too many rocks, I am often guilty of the same. I think when you compare him to some others with less talent who are always whining, he looks pretty good. There is a fine line between arrogance and confidence. I think Albert walks it better than most. Just my .02
  5. Raul I was thinking that with your medical training you could keep the little fella moderately sedated, or even administer a lethal injection. Then I thought of some of the awesome tackle you have, and realize the relationship is much the same as the parisisites that feed on some organisms-it is a mutually beneficial arangement. Nice reel!
  6. 6.5# on a black plastic worm(10" I think, out of the bulk bin at the local marina)-1/4oz round-head jig w/open hook. March 1998, @1:00 am, Bull Shoals Lake, Spring Creek arm. In @ 8' of water (big flat) close to 18-20' creek channel. My wife hit it in the head with the net the first attempt, but we managed to land it anyway. 8-)
  7. Sounds like a good time to me. Nice job telling the story too. 8-)
  8. The ability to spend a lot of cash, and then rationalize it away...you show definite political promise. The only problem is you have too much integrity, and you spent your own money. ;D ;D
  9. Matt Fly I always enjoy your SAL reports. What a great program. I sure hope to see a posting with one of our own in that picture soon. Maybe it will happen during the upcoming roadtrip. Anyway-thanks for the report.
  10. Thanks for the input guys. I still don't know how I would vote; there are compelling arguments on both sides. I don't get a vote so it doesn't matter much what I think. : Daniel I think you are right, either way it is an unfortunate situation.
  11. Welcome to the forum.
  12. I live in a rural area, and my high speed(?) connection is an ify thing sometimes. It makes a guy want to break something.. Welcome back.
  13. Just curious what you baseball guys think about his chances? He was a god here in St. Louis for a couple of years, but his unwillingness to say he had not used steroids was pretty much an admission of guilt, at least to most of the baseball world. Will he make it? Should he make it? I don't know. What do y'all think?
  14. Speaking of that-did you watch any of the Colts game tonight? ;D
  15. Due to health issues I would not be able to participate in this event, but would like to offer my services as impartial judge to make sure all rules are followed. I will wiave my fee in exchange for the above mentioned expenses. Sincerely, Honest, Old, K_Mac

Avid while our religious views are very different, we are united on this. 8-)

Paparock We Christians know this temporal life is only the beginning. In Philippians 1, Paul makes it clear that as his life moved toward the end he was looking forward to being with Christ. As I get older and struggle with health issues of my own, I understand that better. Paul also knew that he still had work to do here; so do I, and so do you. Even in the tough times my brother, God uses us to accomplish His purpose. Pm me and we'll talk. God bless you my friend.
  18. I agree with Alpster's take. I chuckle inside when I hear someone say, "You've got to have confidence!". That to me is like saying to a starving man, "You've got to feel like you've just finished a meal". Simply put, "confidence" is something that follows, it does not lead. Roger Interesting thread, and Roger as always you make a good point, but in this case I respectfully disagree. I believe it is confidence that keeps you focussed, and attentive to what you know from experience works. It is not to say , "You've got to feel like you've just had a meal," to a hungry man, but "Trust me brother if you do what I'm doing, we'll eat soon." While cofidence begins with success it is more than that. It is an assurance that what I'm doing is right, even if it isn't working at the moment. Just my .02
  19. What a great post. When I read LBH's description of NE winters and the memories of youth, and see those fantastic black and white pictures I would really like to see NE in the winter. Then I read Catt's colorful description of Cajun country, and a big bowl of seafood gumbo by the fire, with zydeco playing in the background sounds very good. Riskkid's description of a winter outing in the Tennessee mountains makes me want to strap on a pair of hiking boots head for Chattanooga. Here in the Midwest we have all four seasons and I enjoy them all. As I get older the winters do seem longer, and I love the re-birth of spring, but by the time fall rolls around the change is welcome. As Yakov Smirnov the great Russian philosopher might say, What a country! 8-) Avid, the Florida Dept of tourism probably is not going to have you doing promotional work for them

If I had any sense I would simply amen that statement, but ... : muddy as i first read your post and then avid's response, I was reminded of Jesus' words when He said (I'll paraphrase) we can speak with beauty and eloquence, have all knowledge and wisdom, have a faith that will move moutains, and give everything we have away, but if we don't have love it means nothing. It is when we step outside ourselves and put our focus on others that we are most like Him. Thank you both for that reminder. Kirby
  21. Nice post guys. Sounds like you all learned some good lessons that will pay off next time around. Keep up the good work, and thanks for sharing the story.
  22. Muddy Underspooling will cost you a little distance, but unless you get to the point where you are close to the bottom at the end of a long cast it is not a critical thing. A properly filled spool with soft line will give you the best performance. 10 or 12# Trilene XL would be a good place to start IMO. You can do it! You keep practicing and you will soon be able to join me in giving LBH a hard time about his use of spinning tackle. ;D

muddy_man All the best to you and yours. God bless you brother.

They must be fairly small in stature I guess? ;D
  25. Nice job bitman
