Great pike! I've never fished swimbaits for them, but i have thrown large jointed minnows with much success. Nothing bigger than mid 30 inches, but the pike and big bass will destroy a large jointed minnow early in the year. I like to use a bright green or orange that i can see well. Work it real slow right under the surface and over weeds, then give it a quick jerk and dive it down. Watch it slowly float back up, and when you see that thing disappear, set the hook!

Actually, their family gives a lot to the less fortunate. Very avid church goers and there's an area of their kitchen where they've posted a picture of every child they've sponsored over the years. There's at least 20. His parents even took in the children of family members who weren't doing too well. 5 kids and 3 adults in their small 2 bedroom, 1 story house. My buddy is afraid his parents don't have enough money to retire. Let's not make generalizations now.

They each give eachother money to spend on themselves a month before christmas, they buy what they want, give it to the person who paid for it, the person wraps it and puts it under the tree for christmas. I think it would be easier to just keep the boat the way it is...someone else had the right idea jig wise. Quarter ounce, spinning gear. He could probably skip it under docks and trees being so low to the water.

The guy could probably do something similar, but as you describe it i would think the tubes would need to be secured better than that. They'll still float up and down.

Whatever the heck i wanna listen to! Drove this mexican's truck the other day...you know the typical drug dealer looking truck with large chrome rims and no muffler. POS radio didn't work, and all i could find was mexican rap music HA HA! Flip the switch for the subwoofers and i couldn't hear the actual music though. Turned the music off and listened to that Ford V8. On topic....Typically i'm a modern rock kinda guy. But not the crappy punk, alternative stuff on the radio. Country and western is good when i'm feeling it.

What's the advantage?

I fish 100% berkley also. At first it was a pain because i must've spooled it on wrong or something. Twists galore. The second time i spooled it, i made sure i took all of the line off after spooling it, and reeling it all back on with nothing tied to the end of it. It was great after that. But at the end of that season i got a kink and lost about 1/3 of the spool in the middle of a cast. It was the last time of the season i fished for bass though...so it was alright I have another spool of the 15lb berkley and will use it.

I remember catching a decent 4 lb bass this summer with a rusty hook stuck in his lip and ~ 3/8oz bullet weight swinging at the bottom of 4 inches of braid. The lip had healed around the hook, so it had definitely been there a while. Sometimes it takes a long time for a hook to rust and work itself out. If i can, i'll cut as much of the hook off as i can before releasing them.
