Youll have to go farther than that, Atlanta got it and so did we. My buddy says Clearwater and St. Petersburg FL are in the 60's right now, so I'm headed down there, who's with me lol Yeah, but crap like this is rare. By me, it's a lot more common to have 12+ inches of snow.

I have one that is very similar. It struggles with deeper snow though.

There's this one color i really like. My buddy makes them. It's called jumbalaya...kinda like an ox blood, and it's coffee scented. When i skip docks, it out fishes every other color i have. I don't know if it's the color, the scent, or a combination of both.

He stated that he wants to use a non-bait runner type real in the same way...so obviously he knows what a bait runner is.

Regarding this...i don't care how scientific a test is and what minuscule gains and losses such a test proves, i'm still gonna fish what i feel the best fishing. That goes for just about every product out there.

Actually, i have a problem with going to slow! Ha ha. I spend WAY too much time on every little spot that looks good. My buddy fishes WAY too fast and will actually leave a good bite hoping he'll find a better one. I guess we should fish together more often. That's why i said i need to fish more cranks and jerkbaits. I also need to learn to pick up the spinnerbait and keep it in my hand for a while. It's ridiculous how quick i'll throw the spinnerbait down and pick up my jig rod and start working the crap out of small spots only to catch nothing.

Everyone i know that bought one said it's crap. The twitchin bar malfunctions and the reel locks up. My advice to you, buy a reel without all the extras and small gimmicks. The stuff that you actually need in a good reel will be better quality.

Screw the snow. I'm moving south. How's tennessee in the winter? Kentucky? Maybe i'll go to arkansas.

I need to work on cranking and jerkbait fishing. I also have some big jigs i want to try. 3/4oz with an 8/0 gammy hook. I'd like to catch some big bass on it, but a musky would be real nice too. I'll probably catch a bunch of pike though.

What does the temp get to in the summer? Normal illinois temps or is it warmer in the summer too? I agree, they should stock those lakes with southern strains of bass.

I don't know of any specific ones, but make sure you get one with a red light also. That way you're not blind after tying a knot.

Hey man, nothing wrong with eating some fish...i'm just paranoid about eating them out of a powerplant lake. Although, this lake is pretty big, so probably not bad at all. There's another powerplant lake near where i fish and i wouldn't eat anything out of it, but it's A LOT smaller.

I like to tie my line to something and take all the line off the spool. Then untie it from that object and reel it all back in to take out any line twists. When i reel it back in, i'll spray some into a clean rag and hold the line with the towel. Then let it dry overnight. I've also heard people use a watered down combination of dawn dish soap and fabric softener. This gives it a temporary lubed feeling and definitely helped with pitching with fluoro.

You probably saved yourself TONS of trouble with your health. That's awesome.
