  1. Well the forum update seemed to slow down information on this get together. But alas, I am here. I, along with others, Will be fishing the west side. It has slightly more shoreline, and being "pre spawn" the more shoreline...the and a more diverse amount of sport fish than the eastern side. The boat ramp is off of Rt. 58 ( Monponsett Road) I believe. ALSO: There is an access to east side if anyone so chooses for smaller boats to fit under, I/m not sure the clearance but I do know it's there. I took my boat out for the first time today, it went ok. It is like I suspected, narrow. But the motor runs great. The bad news is its more catered to a one man boat. I mean, me and my father were cruising in it no problem, but I would like the freedom to roam, So that's what I will be doing on Sunday, Flying solo and getting taunted by you hooligans I'm assuming But that's ok, For some strange reason I almost prefer fishing in a boat alone, well on the Jon boats, I'm sure if I had a sweet boat it would be different...but not the case. heh. its peaceful. So I told my buddy not to come so I can have the freedom. I will be planning to launch at 6 AM. I'm sure some people may not get there then, understood. Just yell "Bass Resource?!" to random boaters and we can get introduced, but I'm sure we will meet when people trailer up to leave and in the parking lot. Which reminds me. There is parking for about 10 cars+ trailers so that is good. But that being said it's another reason to get there easy. I am also contemplating bringing my charcoal grill and cooking up some hamburgers for people to come to the parking lot at lunch time and pick up one and head back out, still debating. let me know if you're down. ALSO: If you have been following the weather, they are saying that this Sunday may be the warmest day of the new year with clear blue skies and 0 wind. So, needless to say, let's hope it stays this way, will be perfect for fishing. There are days left before Sunday and more details will come this week. Please do not hesitate to PM me or post in this thread, and if this is the first time you are reading this, please come! Boaters and non boaters we can work something out! If you have not read this .PDF file (http://www.mass.gov/dfwele/dfw/habitat/maps/ponds/pdf/dfwmonpo.pdf) yet, I highly suggest you do so. Also, Here is a link to Google maps for an idea. West is to the left of both maps. Monponsett.pdf
  2. funny, i had MSE installed and i got a really serious virus that was spread through the network. took me at least a day and a half to fully remove it. right after that i deleted MSE and got Avast and have not had a single bit of malware installed on my computer since. it blocks EVERYTHING. MSE just alerted me when the malware was already installed. After you do a full benchmark scan on MSE, it becomes heuristic. Meaning that is aware of every file on your machine. So the moment that any change is made to your file system it catches it. I have literally had no problems with it and recommend it to all my walk-in clients. I dont like Avast! and AVG Free because they are resource hawgs. Where as MSE is extremely light. But I think we can all agree that if you want to avoid the viruses...cut back on the pron. Avast doesn't let changes be made to your system Am I not mistaken but doesn't it ask you every single time ANYTHING is made to your system? Can get annoying no? MSE is for people who don't really do anything except regular use. Set it and forget it. I don't need some one asking me every time there is a file change. That kind of stuff is, like i said earlier, a resource heavy application, where as MSE is light

  4. I'm like 90% sure there is a waterway in Disney that allows you to fish....I could of sworn... Seven Seas lagoon anyone? I think?
  5. Avast and free AVG both SUCK Wanna know whats an awesome free one? Microsoft Security Essentials. Its heuristic. Google it.
  6. Nope just bring your fishing license and other paperwork if you are a boater just to avoid issues. I'm rapidly getting my boat ready, my tow package comes this week and if I am lucky I will get it out to do a test run this weekend at monponsett (plus scope out the waters to get an advantage lol!) I just wanna make sure it goes okay before the 10th so I know where I stand. Crap that reminds me I have to get my trailer registered. damnit....add that to the list. Jig you find a seat yet? if not I think I may have one on my clunker if you still need one, just waiting on my buddy to get back to me.
  7. I have been looking for the 570 with DI grayscale and cant seem to find a single one below $300? Can you point me in the right direction?
  8. Crappie recipe? I don't think i could ever bring myself to eat one of those...plus a lot of the freshwater fish around here have to much mercury they mine as well be mutants C.A.R
  9. First off, looks amazing... Second: This may be pure rediculiousness, but I always thought in my state (Mass) it was illegal to have a bait with more than 3 hooks on a single lure... I thought a buddy of mine mentioned that too me and it sounded crazy but has anyone heard of that before
  10. Well, as I am taking these weekends to get my new boat ready for the MA cabin fever fishing event, I am starting to look at fish-finders. I was lucky enough that back in November I acquired a $100 Newegg.com Giftcard, So I figured, what the hell, I'll get a fish finder. I am attaching a picture of the boat. I am torn between these two : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16858112031&cm_re=fishfinder-_-58-112-031-_-Product and http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16858108118&cm_re=fishfinder-_-58-108-118-_-Product. The other kink is that, I got my father a HumminBird 161c for our 18ft FourWinds for Christmas, and he suggested that I just get the cables for the 161 and the mount..and just use that. So would it be more viable just getting the cables and whatnot for the 161 or just get one of these? Opinions.
  11. The banner at the top is annoying eh? Here is a tip people don't know: If you put 2 fingers on the screen and "pinch" together like you would on a webpage, it zooms out...giving you a larger view of the bird battlefield. If you did not know that you could do this... You're Welcome, I just changed your life.
  12. I love fishing chain pickerel, i feel like its an underrated sport fish, they put up thew best fights
  13. A rat once told me that pizza is their only weakness....
  14. I will continue to counterfeit my licenses per usual.
  15. Friendly fishing outing. I haven't really got indications from anyone stating they wanted to make it a tourney, but bragging rights I'm sure will be heard...
  16. Don't worry guys haven't forgot about this. After talking with some people it looks like the date is going to be April 10th. At Monponsett pond. I plan on getting there very early and making a day out of it. ALSO: We are going to do this again at the same pond/ long pond the weekend AFTER the road trip (May 1st) for people who couldn't make it. If all goes well we can make it a semi monthly thing. A lot of people are saying to fish the west side but i think I am going to check the wind when I get there to make a decision. I hope to see a lot of you out there. Oh, and also. NON BOATERS: please PM me if you have interest and I can see if I can get you on a boat, as it stands I have 1 spot on mine. and I know a few other people have spots. Pleases PM me. Everyone else who has questions/interest also use this thread or PM me.

  18. I know walmart carries them. As well as a couple local bait shops around my area aswell
  19. Saw a long preview for it on Saturday at the movies when waiting to see Paul (pretty funny btw..also Lux Level at Patriots Place is freakin balla) and all I kept thinking was "I could totally beat the crap out of that chick"
  20. I have tried everything lately after ice out. Lipless cranks...KVD square bills, spinners small(Tiny-T) and regular size...soft plastics (with JJ's Magic) ..EVERYTHING...late last night when the sun was going down i was so desperate i tried topwater and caught a bluegill YIPPIE! > I have no idea whats up, i can not seem to land ANYTHING right now.
  21. Wanna know how badass our emblem? It survived a collision at 60MPH
  22. Like I stated in a previous, similar post, my holy grail of cranks is my hand signed Fred C Young Big-O Crank. I have never caught a bass below 3 pounds with it. Its my favorite and if I ever lost it to a tree i would cry. legit. Wait no i wouldn't, I'm on the Sheen.
  23. There are, A lot of them are hosted through MassBASS federation. For example, You will have a local club that is a member of MassBASS and they have their own club tourneys, then they have the ones where MassBASS sponsors it and its like, club vs club if im not mistaken. Also, check the DCR website to see if local towns host tourneys at area ponds/lakes. For example, I know the town next to me the police station holds an annual tourney at a local pond and offer a $500 first place prize, pretty cool.
  24. So as I posted earlier about getting my new '11 Ford Fusion, I was giving the task of getting rid of my old car. A 1996 Pontiac Grand Am. I hate this car. I wish nothing but the worst for it and if it was possible I hope it would come down with a disease and die a slow and painfull death. That being said I was going to junk it and get a few hundred bucks, but then a light bulb went off. Why not put this on craigslist...completely disclose its problems, and see if i can trade it for a motorcycle. Brilliant. So that's what I did. I got like 6 people emailing me. The best one so far is a 1983 Suzuki GR650. It needs a starter and that's it. Im excited. This is a good deal right? Thoughts.
