  1. I've always used a 7' Medium Kistler Helium graphite for cranks over the last few years. Recently, I got my first fiberglass crankin' rod from Megabass, the Shiryu. Both have worked well for me. Fiberglass is supposedly 'slower' so you don't ****** the hooks away from a Bass but I find the 'forgiveness' of my Medium Helium effective too. Dan
  2. GOODGAWDAMIGHTY!!! What a BASSER you are Randall! 8-) We are not worthy! Dan
  3. Y'all aren't going to believe this but here is my "Cologne Wardrobe". Yes, I own those and a few that aren't on there. Wore this one today: Lolita Lempicka Au Masculin. I wear a different one each day. Dan
  4. 21 years with IBM selling Office Products. In 1983, I became a stockbroker with a Southern boutique firm that has since been bought several times, ending me up with one of the largest firms in the country. Stayed with that same firm for the past 23+ years and I'll retire early next year. Some at work will tell you "He's already retired!" Dan
  5. For strength and smoothness, this one can't be beat. Dan
  6. Daiwa Libreto PIXY Here is mine "at work". Dan
  7. Thanks again y'all. Ronnie: I am humbled at your observations. I do try to keep on learning as I fumble around in my little boat. Us ol' fellers got to stick togeather or these young whippersnappers will 'catch-and-release' us ;D. And thank you for the invite to South Carolina but I rarely fish out of a 100 mile area here in middle GA. Dan
  8. Great day and great Bass young man! 8-) Dan
  9. Went to my boss's two ponds today. Partly cloudy, low 30s last night, sunny, wind--5-10 mph, and clear water. Started out at the smaller pond, fishing from the bank. Caught a few dinks and then a 6 lber and a 1 lber. There was another Bass trying to ****** the SSenko away as I brought her to the bank. Moved on to the bigger pond and caught a 3 lber before putting in the boat. Caught several dinks and missed several bites. Ended up with a 2 lber. 6 lber--24" Gut shot Close up Skinny 3 lber 3 lber again 2 lber 1 lber Dan
  10. It will dive just a foot or so but no more than that. I think it was designed to stay on top, making it a "wake" bait. That's where I would expect a rodent to swim too so I reel it very slowly. Dan
  11. I have a few and their paints jobs are holding up just fine. If I were you, I'd ask the retailer or RI if they had a bad bunch of pait jobs recently. Dan
  12. If you're going to fish the original Senko instead of its cheaper options, why not use the hook that GY designed? I use their 4/0 size for the 5" Senko and the Sugoi in its other sizes for 95% of my other soft-plastic baits too. It has proven itself time and again over the last 9 years or so. I always Tex-skin-it-on-top, making it weedless/woodless, and allowing for a 'soft' hookset. Dan
  13. It's the two-piece bait. I hooked that one . Dan
  14. I use to use the SK Rattlin' Pro Model jigs but since I found these jigs, I don't anymore. Those Jig Xs are superior in every way IMO. Dan
  15. I T-rig mine with a Gambler, rattlin', 1/4 oz screw-in weight and a 4/0 Sugoi(GY's design) hook for pitchin' but I throw it weightless with the same hook way more. Btw, you should notice that it's a little more 'hardy' and will last thru several bites; more than the original Senko. Dan
  16. Thanks y'all. I thought the Crappie would bring some comments . No 'fight' to speak of and I didn't 'horse' it in as their 'paper mouths' will rip easily. I wish there were no Crappie in that pond as they eat a lot of the forage fish and y'all have seen the skinny Bass from that pond. A biologist told me this spring as we were shocking my boss's pond that any pond of 10 acres or less must not have any Crappie in it or they will deplete the Bass population. The swamp pond and my boss's pond are 10 acres or less. Dan
  17. Went to the swamp pond today instead of work; sunny, air temp-high 70s, partly cloudy, no wind with fairly clear water, and water turkeys and vultures soaring overhead, scaring all the Bass. Caught a 2lb Bass on the LC Pointer I used Sunday at my boss's pond. Had this small swimbait on and was waking it back when I saw a follower as it got next to the boat. I stopped the bait and watched the Bass circle the bait and then it reached up and sucked the bait under. I was so amazed at seeing that happen that I didn't wait for the Bass to take it under and just ended up snatching the bait away. Later, I caught a nice Crappie on the same pointer. Got no other bites. 2lbs, 8ozs--19" Crappie Dan
  18. Aw shucks The tripod and the wireless remote make it possible. Dan
  19. RW: They heard you: The Lucky Craft Live Pointer 80MR, 95MR, and 110MR will suspend between 2-4 feet. 80MR-Length: 3.2", Weight: 5/16oz, 95MR-Length: 3.75", Weight: 1/2oz, 110MR-Length: 4.5", Weight: 5/8oz That size should throw a 'country mile' . I just saw they also have a '112' size that weighs 3/4 oz. Dan
  20. Sirmo: Your pics continue to amaze everyone and are a joy to see. 8-) Oh, and nice BASS too! Dan
  21. Thank you Avid. I try to get the bait in each pic but positioning the boat with the sun in mind, wind, etc., I sometimes don't. Yes. it was an Aurora Black color. Dan
  22. I'd never order reel oil by itself off of the net; with other tackle, yes but not by itself. Your local tackle shop should have reel oil. Dan
  23. Matt makes a smaller Rainbow Trout bait. It has caught Bass for me down here and there are no RT's in middle GA: Dan
  24. Look at this review. And this one. And this LC is probably their best effort yet. And then you decide........................... Dan
  25. This isn't the smallest but it was the most enjoyable catch. The little one grabbed the Zoom worm and flailed about on top when all of a sudden, the bigger Bass grabbed the little one. I lucked out in that the Sugoi EWG hook stuck the big one after going thru the little one's gills. 8-) Dan
