Batteries Crapped Out? Which Ones To Buy?
My batteries crapped out on me, Losing power after a few hours on the water and running slow. When I got home I put the volt meter on them and saw I was getting 13 v on one and 10.8 on the other. I put them on charge over night and measured the power again in the morning, they both went up to 13.8. I noticed the water level was a little low so I topped it off and put them back on charge, after a few minutes they went up to 14.7. The charger went to maintenance mode after a few minutes so I disconnected the charger and put the meter on it again and they are dropping volts every few seconds. Looks like they cant hold a charge, so by the time I get to the water and after a few hours of use they die. The batteries are interstate marine batteries that came with the boat - the flooded type. With such a massive selection of options for new batteries im not sure what to go with, Cranking amps, cold cranking amps, reserve , etc. looks like they range from 100-300 bucks so theres a pretty big margin depending on what type of battery.

Powell Vs Mossyback
I cant weigh in on the powell bc ive never tried one, But I do have the mossyback 7'5 heavy and I love it. use it all day long countless pitches and flips and its very comfortable. No tip heaviness like a lot of other rods its length, I dont have a lot of rods in that price range so spending the money on it took a lot of thought but I can honestly say I dont regret it at all. I liked the mossyback so much I just bought a mossyback spinning rod for senkos.

Hot Weather Thick Weeds
When the summer rolls around in our Northern lakes largemouth seem to relate to thick weeds. The question is deep weeds 8-12 ft or shallow weeds. Its a craps shoot and theres only one way to find out.. getting out on the water and fishing. What are some factors that contribute to where you would start? Theres an abudance of shallow cover with lush green weeds and pads in the back of spawning bays, shallow weed cover off deep main/river channels, and deeper weedlines scattered throughout the lake off main lake points, secondary points, and shoals.

Poison Tail Jig
Thanks, that's what concerned me. The hook look awfully light. Is there a heavier hook that the mold would accept in the event I have issues? I saw online someone is making it with a 30 degree 3x hook but not sure which kind

Poison Tail Jig
what size hooks are you using for the 1/2 3/4 and 1 oz?
-
Poison Tail Jig
Im thinking about getting one of these molds for 1/2 , 3/4 and 1 oz. How do you like them? Do you prefer them over the standard arkies? I like how you can get a heavier jig with them without the bulky bullet head style. what hooks are best for this mold? I plan on using this as a flipping jig primarily.

Where Did The Fish Go
the bass are largemouth on this particular spot, actually the lake has more largemouth than smallmouth. Your right with the rocky reef and the weeds look like cabbage yes. If by td you're implying transducer than your 2/3! Im going to need to do some combing of the area and hope I find a spot where the bait is and theyre relating to them. Thanks everyone, I'll keep you posted on how it goes this weekend.

Which One Gets Your Vote?
Looking for a rod for weightless plastics, wacky rigged , trigged, some small swimbaits and jigs maybe. It comes down to rod length and taper, I dont know the difference in graphite if there even is one. I do have a mossyback flipping stick that I love if that counts for anything Loomis MossyBack Senko Spin 7'1" Medium xfast 1/8-3/8 Loomis Bronzeback 882 Spin Rod 7'4" Med fast 1/8-3/8

Where Did The Fish Go
thanks guys, thats what I should have done, rather than just aimlessly casting deeper water.. use the sonar to find a hump or point deeper where they could be holding. Hopefully it was a toothy fish that came by to scatter them, pike and musky in the lake too just havent caught any in that particular area but they could definetly have been crusing there.

Need Some Tips
can't go wrong throwing a weightless senko, if you're having trouble with the moss just texas rig it. When I'm fishing a senko on a tough day I typically like to make really long casts and strip some line out so it falls very naturally without drag, this gives the senko a chance to fall and wiggle like it was intended for. Let it soak for a little, take some slack in and raise the rod tip slightly checking for any weight, if not raise your rod tip up again and let it fall back down. Cast and repeat. Watch your line, sometimes youll see it taking off sideways, reel in the slack and set the hook!

Where Did The Fish Go
Heres a spot I was fishing two weeks ago when the water temperature was still in the low to mid 70s, Id pull up on this spot and in a couple hours limit out on a decent bag of fish. I focused on casting to the rocks which created an opening surrounded by the grass on the shallow top of the hump. Long casts with weightless plastics, letting them soak until a fish picked it up, all quality fish 3 lbs + Last weekend I went to the spot around 2 pm when water temperature was around 82 fishing the same way and had no luck. This looked like such a productive pattern before Im trying to figure out why its not working now. With the increase in water temp I'm starting to guess if they backed off the shallow flat and back into the deeper water. I tried fishing the area around 10-16' but couldnt get a bite. Im going back out this weekend and plan on going to that spot early to see if theyll be up there since the water should be cooler and hopefully the fish more active. what would your approach be?

Upcoming Tournament
In two weeks I have a tournament on a local lake, around 50 boats. two weeks ago I was on fish, had a spot that I found that was good for 15 lbs which would be what I needed for a good finish. The spot was off the main river channel, went from 30' to 16' up to 1-4' at the top, the hump was half an acre. When I went there this weekend water temperature was up to 82 compared to 75 when I was catching them and I couldn't get a fish. I waited until 2 pm to check out the spot so the water had warmed up a bit since then. I'll have to go out there this weekend and hit the spot early morning while they're shallow and see if they're still using this hump. If they aren't could they be using the deeper water and next to it in thechannel or would they have moved completely ouyt of the area? Also should I worry about hooking fish 7 days before the tournament day?

Birthday Coming Up- Shimano Core
my birthday is coming up in less than a month and my gf mentioned she wanted to buy me a shimano core reel, I tried to steer her away from spending so much money but shes dead set on it. I plan on using the reel on my gl2 7'5 mh for light jigs and texas rigging or my 7'5 mossy back heavy rod for flipping heavier jigs and trigs. The question is which core would be right for me? 100mgfv, 50mg7, the mgfv has the flipping switch which I have no experience with and the 50 is an ounce lighter

Spike It Blade Dye
Has anyone used this stuff to dye a clear plastic? I'm looking to dye some black just wondering how the finish would look? A transparent black or dark black?
