  1. ah I got it now, seems pretty straight forward
  2. I went out and bought one, the sizes are 5/16, 7/16, 9/16 .. and heres a picture with the skirt and rattle removed, it looks like a size 3 but im not too sure.
  3. Im looking for a weedless jig mold for "mini jigs" I think the hook sizes are 2 or 3 the head looks like a flipping jig but the sizes are 5/16 1/2 9/16
  4. thanks for clarification on the mold size, so basically dip the entire head with the dk blue then use the black and yellow chart with the brush dabbing technique you said?
  5. Weedless Flipping Jig - FLIP-3-AY item#306 Thanks Cadman, the jig looks great and that makes a lot of sense. Just to be clear say I want to make the alimony pattern correct me if im wrong but is this the process- Using powder paint I would dip the hot lead in the black powder first, then using my brush I would dab it into the blue powder and tap it on my black jig head and do the same for the yellow color. finally baking them in my oven?
  6. Some jig patterns ive seen have multiple colored heads, a blue/ black finish etc, is this done by diping the main base color then spraying with an air brush to achieve the faded overlay color? or is done by dipping different colors between baking? also on a side note I was wondering which size fiber guard is typically preffered? 1/8 or 5/32, im using a do it flipping mold, the fiber guards I bought and used through them didnt come labeled
  7. Heres a joke about a fisherman and his magical encounter; One day while fishing this man had caught this massive gold fish, the biggest fish he had ever seen.. Bringing in this fish he was cheering " tonight me and the wife are going to eat well". The gold fish responded "sir please don't, please release me back" The man nearly fell off the boat, a fish that could speak? what did he come across here? the fish responded, " if you let me go, ill grant you a wish" The man had caught a genie gold fish.. he decided to spare the fish for a wish.. he gave it some long and hard thought then decided his wish would be ; whenever he ticked he would pee 20 year old scotch. The fish had granted him the wish so he released him back. Well he packed up his day fishing and called his wife on the way back home " honey, we're celebrating.. get two shot glasses ready" Well, sure enough when he got home he filled them up and shot it back, along with his wife! "AHHH 20 yr old scotch, marvelous" Well the next day he went out fishing again and at the end of the day he did the same thing, he called his wife and had her prepare 2 shot glasses. When he got home he filled them up and they both kicked them back enjoying the 20 yr old scotch. He went out again the next day, this time at the end of his trip he called his wife and told her to prepare one shot glass. She was confused and asked " only one glass? I dont get to have any scotch?" the man replied, " Honey, tonight you drink from the bottle"
  8. Thanks Shane, I'll be messaging you in the future for some information. By public storage are you talking about the gated storage lots you pay a monthly fee for?
  9. Responses like that make this forum #1! Im going out to the garage now haha
  10. My parents just bought a place in Hallandale beach, they get possesion in a months time, anyone live or fish in this area? Im thinking once they get possession I may have to hitch up the boat and take a ride down and check it out. Problem is I dont know about boat storage while we visit. If anyone lives in the area let me know!
  11. great forum, youll be HOOKED
  12. I think its great also, much more informative than typical fishing shows. I wish they would have a box on the screen saying what bait and line being used.
  13. When I was down at okeechobee I had a former flw pro as a guide. He told me the gas is what kills you, you need to figure 80k a year in fuel, he had sponsors so the entry fees werent an issue. When you factor staying in hotels and eating out your probably around 100k per year, if you finish in the money enough times youre really only banking 20-30k. If you win a big event and cash a big cheque then I guess you can make some good money. Its a big sacrifice though if you have a family
  14. Thanks gents, I wont be swinging for the fences, just pitches and flips
  15. I just did a search for the deep south rods, how are they? seems like the price is too good to be true
  16. thanks grimlin, I read about that jika rig in an outdoors magazine last summer, set up the rig but never tried it. we have a season here also.. not until the end of june though.

do you just fish it like a jerkbait? ive never picked up a fluke before
  18. what kind of grub? how do you rig it and fish it?
  19. I have a g loomis mossy back 7'5 flipping stick, 1/4-1 oz , absolutely love the rod, perfectly balanced, light and sensitive. I wish the rating was 1 1/4 oz, I dont often need much more than 1 oz but the odd time I do, Would I be taking a chance throwing a 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 oz weight?
  20. With a new rig or a spin off on an old rig how can you keep up? Seems like everyday I read online or a fishing magazine theres a new latest and greatest technique. Im definetly one of the guys who is visited frequently by the monkey so I know all about tripping over myself to get my hands on some of the new things. At the end of the day however I keep going back to the bread and butter techniques that I have confidence in and have brought me success in the past. Im a true believer in keeping up with new technology or fall behind mantality but when is it enough - Do you think it can negatively affect you, messing around with all kinds of new techniques instead of sticking to what you know works.. There are some baits I look forward to using this season that I havent in the past though - like RW highly acclaimed fat ika. What about everyone else? What are your old faithfuls and a couple new lures you want to try this season. I usually find myself using a jig, senko, jerkbait.
  21. did you update the version? ive had issues that were resolved once updating, if not call up lowrance tech support
  22. Thats terrible Glen, as im sure its happened. Im surprised they can hold you accountable for someone elses actions. Rather than going through all the trouble of holding you accountable with law suits etc, why not make the customers more of a priority.
