Submerged Road Beds
Ive been hearing of these more and more frequenetly recently when watching some fishing shows. I was wondering if all lakes have them or which ones usually do? Do i just pull up a map and look at roads that stop just short of the water?

Thought I Found A Nice Spot
Just when i thought i figured it out!!! I was fishing this weekend on my home lake and I came across an area 150-200 yards offshore.. the depth was constant from the bank. around 3 ft deep, it stayed at this depth for about 150 yards or so then within a couple of feet it declined to 7-9 ft into the main lake, I also spotted a bunch of weeds varying from 3 ft to 6 ft off bottom surrounding this area of the sharp drop off. Within a few casts using a shaky head worm I managed to boat a nice 4lber.. the biggest bass out of this lake all season for a few of us that have made several trips out to the lake. I continued to fish this area for another hour throwing the shaky head, jerk bait, swim bait with no success.. I thought for sure this type of structure would hold more bass. The thing i found strange yesterday while fishing was the water temperature, the last few weeks have been extremely hot here with the heat wave, causing water temperatures to hit the mid 80s. however yesterday the water seemed to decrease 5 or 6 degrees, could this shift in temperature cause some fish to move shallow again? Thanks, Don.

ticked Off, First Time Out Loomis Broke
Still haven't received the replacement but the store owner was nice enough to give me a new st.croix legend tournament 7'6 pitching stick for the time being.. Now that's service!

ticked Off, First Time Out Loomis Broke
I hear you Pantera, misunderstanding... This is the first rod in that high end price range I own.. With my crucial I was worried enough but was lucky enough not to have anything happen to them.. I went as far as even buying a cover for the d**n thing so it didn't get banged up in my rod locker haha.. As for missing a hookset and the jig coming back at the rod I don't think so. It broke 4" below the tip

Mine weren't in a twist, seemed like yours were, hence my remark

ticked Off, First Time Out Loomis Broke
^ That's one hell of an assumption.. Coming out of the wood work over here bc you wouldn't spend that kind of money on a rod- now you have to knock it to feel better..I make enough money where the price of that rod isn't a big deal. And I love the sport of bass fishing so I enjoy spending money on it regardless of the amount

ticked Off, First Time Out Loomis Broke
Like any other high end products you pay top dollar for them, its unfortunate it broke.. but even ferraris need servicing sometimes.. I believe it had something to do with damage during shipping and not the quality of the product.. as for the 100 dollar replacement cost, if u think about it - it is fair, if they didn't everyone would be breaking rods all the time for a free replacement. If its a problem from there end they look after it. My understanding anyways .

Well they can inspect all they like, in my hands nothing comprimising the rods integrity was done.. None the less the store owner is getting me a rod and he'll deal with his sales rep for a replacement.

ticked Off, First Time Out Loomis Broke
First time out with my new loomis flipping rod and the #$!*in thing broke, snapped clean 4" below the tip. Didn't bang it up or step on it I was pitching to the bank and it just cracked off clean, I'm wondering if It was damaged during shipping then it broke on me.. Called the store I bought it from he said he'll call his rep on monday and see about getting another one in asap bc he doesn't stock them.. I'm disappointed, the rod was nice n light and exactly what I was looking for, I used it for 8 hrs today and at the end of the day with a few docks left it blew up on me.

Record Heat And Dry Spell Here
This week has been extremely humid temperatures reaching 115 degrees, not something were familiar with.. I'm sure the a lot of you on these forums know these conditions very well. I'm curious how the bite will be this weekend and whether I should have a different approach ready. Whether it be lure, presentation or location of the fish? Thanks, Donnie

Flouro Vs Braid For Pitch N Flip
why is it that most of the pros on tour swear by 100% fluro unless punching mats or fishing in extreme cover? im not doubting your advice im just curious

Flouro Vs Braid For Pitch N Flip
I've been using braid exclusively since I've started pitching n flipping jigs and t-rigs craws etc I fish in a wide array of cover. Boat docks, weed lines, pads, weed clumps, rock piles etc if a fish might be there I'm throwing at it, I've had little to no break offs using the braid but I wonder if I'm missing any strikes because of the high visibility line.. I won't punch mats without braid , what other pieces of cover would flouro be a bad idea for? Thanks, Don

St. Croix Lt "big Gulp"
I bought this rod and I returned it, it is a light rod but like any other rod at that length its very tip heavy and for flipping all day I found it uncomfortable- instead I picked up a 7'5 loomis rod for a little bit more, have you used a rod that length before?

Search For Deep Water Bass, Map Inside
i was fishing today in 6' of water in weed clumps caught a 7 lb pike in the same area as 2 lb bass... i also tried out one of the spots catt mentioned ended up finding a submerged rock 30'30' in 6 ft of water with a drop to 15' on its side. School of smallies on it, caught 3 dragging a football jig on the break, once boat traffic picked up the bite shut right down so i moved into some nearby shallow weeds lines on the edge of some current and the main channel

Search For Deep Water Bass, Map Inside
Thanks for the tips guys I can't wait to get out there and try it out, in the spot catt indicated it can get pretty busy through there mid day as all the big yachts pull through however it is a no wake zone so it doesn't get too turbulent. As for the musky and pike, the musky are. Far and few between, and the pike are mostly small, a tournament last month of 40 boats yielding a big fish of 5 lbs
