  1. I know that they mean Japan and the U.S. just wondering what the DM part stands for? Do alot of you Guys buy reels from Japan? I am out of the loop when people discuss reels like this! Thanks
  2. Sounds like you got it where you want it! Congrats on the new reel, what is your first impressions with the reel? How about overall size and palm ability? I have the BB-1 and love it and been thinking of getting a TP!
  3. Thanks! I never tried jackal but some of their stuff does look good!
  4. I am a boater and have fished in draw tournaments such as the BFL. It is always nice to have the coangler give a little for gas. I now fish in a club that is setup as team tournaments. It is always 50/50 with the partner. We split gas in boat gas in truck and if needed hotel stays.
  5. Well here is the last package before I head to Erie! I can't wait hopefully the weather holds up and the big girls are offshore grubbing on gobies!
  6. Not the best pic but here she is!
  7. Hey guys, I have the new sunline sx-1 braid in 10# test coming tomorrow for my new stradic fj and was wondering how to put it on? Should I use a mono backing (what # test) or should I use a small piece of black tape? The reel is a 2500 and I will be using it with a fluro leader for drop shot. I don't use braid alot but after watching Arron Martens using it I figured I try it out up Erie. Thanks!
  8. Thanks guys! My son doesn't fish much at all because of school and sports ( football, wrestling), so I hope he catches alot of fish and some biguns!
  9. Thanks guys can't wait to fish it!
  10. Hey all, I have not been on here for awhile I have been working alot of ot and haven't even been able to fish alot. I was however able to buy a new drop shot combo for my upcoming trip to Erie! I got the new st. Croix legend tournament series rod in mlxf 6'10" along with a new shimano stradic fj. The combo is beautiful together and can't wait to fish it. Taking my son up to Erie at the end of the month and hope to have a blast catching some pigs on the new combo. Anyone with any hot spots that they would not mind giving up? Going out of presque isle bay. I have fished to cribs and the W's with some success would like to get off of the beaten path a little though! Anyway the rod and reel is absolutely gorgeous and can't wait to put it through some work! Thanks Phil
  11. I hear the concerns about rapalas breaking and I have broken more than a few myself! I talked to David fritts about this and he also said that they do break somewhat easily but this is what makes the bait work so well. The lips are thin but he said that is what gives it such great action. I use alot of cranks and love many different company's, but when it is time to put fish in the boat I put a rapala on the end of my line!
  12. I found some 4 amp fuses! Got them at Napa!! Thanks everyone!
  13. Thanks again guys. I am going to try napa today. I don't think they are bad I just think they were frozen when I tried to turn them on and that is what blew the fuses. Later on after I got home I threw a couple of 3 amps in just to see if they would work and they worked fine.
  14. I know of one guy on here that swears by them! I am sure he will chime in, after reading his post I went and got some!
  15. Someone told me that if you use a bigger amp you can damage the pump instead of the fuse blowing! I don't know if this is true or not.
  16. Thanks my pumps froze up when I turned them on poof! I wonder why 4 amp is so hard to find?
  17. Two prong type. It seems that 4 amp is hard to come by. I will have to check out lowes and home depot! Thanks
  18. I had both of my livewell fuses blow and they are 4 amp. Well I can't find 4 amp anywhere! My question is does anyone know where I can get them and do I need 4 amp or could I go with 3 or 5 amp? I can find them everywhere. Thanks
  19. I have never thought that pike were good to eat! I always thought they were trashy fish!
  20. Nice setup! That reel is the best reel for the money ever made! Of course that's just my opinion!
  21. I remember seeing a video a long time ago from Doug Hannon and they were doing some underwater photography and there was a gentleman fishing near where they were at. They saw a huge bass come up and eat his spinnerbait and swim towards him before spitting it back out and the guy never knew!
