I do tournament fish and would love to someday work my way up to fish in national tournament trails. With that being said I do not try and gain any type of sponsorship! I feel that I need to work on my fishing ability and build relationships with real people before I would ever ask for anything. I will always live by the moto that if you treat people the right way that in turn good things will happen for you!

I don't use fluro for cranking but as far as 10/12 pound test debate it all depends on what depth the fish are holding. If you need to get down a little deeper then 10 is what you want. If you think the bass are up off the bottom a little then 12 will work. It may seem like it is not a big deal but I have seen this exact same situation play out last spring. I was cranking a bandit 100 on 12# and my partner was cranking the same lure on 10#. He put two four pounders in the boat and was hauling water. Also when you have the right rod and your drag set properly 10# will be fine and I always want to get as deep as I can anyways. Anyways I would suggest 10#

Baits I will try just about everything but as far as techniques go I hate the Carolina rig! I have tried it many times and just can't seem to put fish in the boat with it. As far as GY senkos I wish I could fish knock offs but I have so much confidence in them that when I try to fish with others I am always looking at reasons why they don't catch fish like the GY. They don't last and they are expensive but the way they fall and the way fish hold on to them for me is magical!

Do you all think this would be a good line choice for jerkbaits in cold water? Or should I stick with mono? This is for suspending jerkbaits. Just worried it may not suspend with it. Thanks!

If you like to crank a rapala DT fat 03 in helenskie shad color will put some pigs in the boat on that lake during the prespawn spawn phase periods.

I would say can't quite count it out yet. If the water was a little warmer I think we would have saw what that bait is really made of! I am not saying it works I just think the conditions were not favorable for that lure to shine.

One thing I learned this year is that the war room is awesome! I watched every minute of the online coverage all weekend and it was awesome! I learned alot about jerkbaits and how fish move and what they do in cold water. Very informative!

There is no nut on the handle side you have to push down on a piece under the handle then twist the handle off.

Got it! Did a search and found the answer on here from 2009! Thanks all and thanks to bass resource always helping me one way or another!

On this model there is no way that I know of to take the handle off before the side plate there is no screw or nut cap cover like other reels.

Hey guys I have been cleaning my reels with no problems but I got to my tour edition pt reel and I can't get it apart! I got all the screws out and the handle side plate is loose but it won't come off? The reel is a te 1170 pt. again all screws are out and the side plate is loose just will not come off. Any help would be appreciated!

Sitting here watching the classic online and dreaming of one day fishing in something of that caliber got me wondering what is the biggest tournament you guys have ever fished in? I fished in the ranger boats owners tournament on Kerr lake in 2007 and had an absolute blast! Meet tons of pros and great people. There were appox.380 boats and it was exciting to say the least. I finished 13th and it was by far the biggest and best tournament I have ever been a part of. So what is your biggest moment fishing tournaments?

I work for a company that does explosion welding. I am the lead on midnight. We deal with big heavy pieces of metal some plates are upwards of 60,000 pounds! Close to home ( less than a mile ) and get most of the days off I need to fish tourneys. Our shop was on modern marvels on the history channel a few years back!

Search quantum energy pt on eBay there are some nice ones in your price range. I have several and like them.

I have used them for the last 3 years and liked them. With that being said I am no longer using them because they are a little bulky and add weight to the reel. I did not notice until I took them off this past week when I was cleaning the reels. They also left the knobs with a black discoloration on them that I can't seem to get off. I will however continue to use them on my jig reel. That is the reason I went to them in the first place. I missed a good fish one time while it was raining because my hand slipped off the handle, they do help with that alot. Hope this helps!

The shad rap that is a gold color ( second pic second lure down on left ) is a killer early spring crank! I have caught lots of bass on that crank. Also I love the fat cat!
