  1. Just picked up a pack of these to use with my senkos. Has anyone used them? I need a better hook for fishing my senkos and skipping them under docks, I go through alot of them due to them ripping at the head when I Texas rig them. I hope this will help somewhat!
  2. Just ordered the Lews BB1 can't wait to see how she does!
  3. I know nothing to help you, but if you put everything you have into this good things will happen for you! Good luck I wish the best for you!
  4. I want to take advantage of cabelas 5 dollar shipping this weekend. I have gift cards to cover the cost of the BB1 but just wondering if I should be patient and wait to get the money for the Calcutta? I know the shimano would be a beautiful reel I just don't know enough about the lews BB1
  5. I am looking to get a new cranking reel I have narrowed it down to two. Either lews bb1 or the new shimano Calcutta d. I know there is a big price difference in these two but I just want to make the right decision. I will be using it for shallow to medium depth cranks. Thanks!
  6. I am also looking for a crankbait rod for the lew's bb1 I am getting. I have a g loomis (older model) crankbait rod and like it but I see so many people and pros using less expensive rods and wonder if getting something else would be better? I throw mainly mid depth cranks and square bills. I fish my square bills a little different than most and slowly crawl them shallow. I would love to hear from some of the great cranking guys on here!
  7. The first round aired on new years day at 1:00! KVD is being replaced by I believe Terry Scroggins due to scheduling conflicts. For those of you that will be watching tomorrow you are in for a treat! Pay close attention on what the winner is using and how!
  8. Welcome this is the best place to learn anything and everything about bass fishing!
  9. I have two outdated units on my boat and need to upgrade. First I need gps, next I would like to have DI. I don't have a ton of money so my thought was to get one good unit and mount it on a ram mount and spin it once I shut off the big motor and go up front. I really like the humminbird models but I don't know what I need to buy? Is just one unit a good idea, or should I buy two cheaper units? All I know is that when I went to lake Erie last year for a club tourney I was at a huge disadvantage without gps! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  10. Float and fly technique! It can be absolutely deadly with water between 50 and 38 learn it and you will be surprised how many big fish a 1/32 ounce jig can catch!
  11. Looks good I am going to have to try it this year. The snell knot intrigues me because of how the hook pops up on the hookset. I skip a lot of senkos wacky style and the straight shank hook looks more streamline. Thanks for all the suggestions!
  12. Thanks guys! Love the video!
  13. So far sounds good. Anyone using them on a regular basis besides the regular offset worm hooks?
  14. Hey guys, I am thinking of using straight shank hooks this upcoming season and I have never fished with them before. I have read that the hook up ratio is better with them. My question is what knot should I use with them? What other techniques would work with them, texas rig, flipping, wacky rig, etc...? I saw that robo worm makes some called rebarbed hooks they look good! Thanks in advance for the help!
  15. Congrats now go catch some smallies on cranks then you will be hooked for life!
  16. Well everyone is different, but I know if I was to ask my wife to see her phone (which I never would) she would never hesitate for one minute. Also my wife would never "hang out" with another guy just out of respect for me. To talk to someone at a social gathering or say hello once in awhile on the phone is normal, to hang around with and text all day long with someone else is not! I hope everything works out for you.
  17. Well if using the 788 with your I pilot is something you want to do then it sounds like you would be better off spending the extra money.
  18. The mesh kind is what I have and is some of the best money I have spent in a long time! It makes putting rods in and taking them out of the lockers in a boat so much easier! They also are great if you are taking a bunch of rods on someone else's boat. Buy them you will not be disappointed!
  19. I use rod skins! They protect very well and are less expensive compared to other brands! You can get them at tacklesteals.com
  20. I thought the Pittsburgh classic was one of the best as of late! Yes the weight was horrible but it showed you how good these guys really are! Also, the coverage was some of the best with lots of hours on espn and it was put together extremely well!
  21. I also have been using them all year. At first I too was missing fish on them and figured out it was my hook set and not the hook. Like wetline said just reel down then come straight up and you won't have any problems. I used them up Erie and never lost a fish on them!
  22. Just wondering why you are not going to try shimano?
  23. Well I borrowed a friends stradic fg 1000 to try this weekend. I like how it feels just playing around with it.
  24. Thanks I am sure I will have many questions in the near future!
