  1. What sharpshooter said. Heat up the screw lock and melt it on. It'll hold once it cools off. Works great.
  2. Awesome, thanks! These are not too easy to find huh?
  3. Anyone know where I can get this scale?
  4. Yes it is =0) http://www.outdoortexas.com/jbassbk.htm
  5. Got skunked again! - Hardest part of the year for me for some reason.
  6. http://www.amazon.co...itical concepts http://www.amazon.co...itical concepts http://www.amazon.co...itical concepts John Hope's Trackin' Trophies This one has been my favorite. Everything in this book is based on his tracking studies. Puts a lot of myths about largemouth bass to rest.
  7. "The Mad Scientist", except maybe just "The Scientist"... I don't challenge people on what they know about fishing, and don't think observing is more fun than actually having a line in the water.
  8. Thanks guys... @00 Mod - I think that's more money than I wanna spend for a rod and reel that won't see much action, but I'm definitely going to check out that combo for myself =p @okobojieagle - Great advice, I personally like that line too @Diggy - Yeah and amazon has that combo for $66 bucks right now +free shipping. I'm just going to get one I know it won't go to waste especially at that price. @new2bc4bass - I considered the surf rods as well, I just know they wouldn't be happy lugging around something that large. That Arbor combo has a 7'4 rod... Seems like it might be the best way to go.
  9. Thanks for the responses so far... I'm going to have to check them out. 00 Mod, how much distance would you say you get on average with a 5" senko on there? Diggy, have you tried out the arbor combo? Looks interesting.
  10. Hey everyone, When my parents fish with me pretty much the only thing they care about is getting their bait as far out to the middle of the lake as possible and letting it sit there. What equipment would you recommend? It would have to be a spinning reel that's not super heavy, the lighter the better. Maybe the Daiwa SS Tournament® Spinning Reel? I have a 7ft medium fast action rod to put it on. Would a different rod be better? I usually keep 6lb flourocarbon on their reels, or ~15lb braid. What combos have you had luck with being able to cast a mile, decently effortlessly? I want to try and stay around $150-$200, but if you know of something more expensive that is just completely awesome let me know =0) Thanks!
  11. I'm no expert, but these are the areas I would personally hit first.

  13. I actually would love to read more about Martens. Seems to like the same type of fishing I do.
  14. I'm not in Michigan but only about an hour south of it. We've been having the same type of temps. The bite has been tough but I have found bass in the backs of creeks and channels (shallow water 1-3ft) munching on whatever bait fish are there.
  15. My one piece of advice would be don't be afraid to break the "standard" way of fishing it. I personally make long casts, move it a lot, and fairly quickly a lot of times with real good results.
  16. For me the best thing I've learned while shore fishing is down size and use something different, especially in areas of the lake that get a lot of fishing pressure.
  17. Drop shot, but to be fair I haven't given the c-rig much of a chance.
  18. There should have been a fish right there.
  19. Hahaha that's great
  20. I've had luck punching a 10" worm right through the center of the thick stuff in about 4-6ft of water.
  21. Welcome, I went to ILSTU! Are you going to school there or just your home town?
  22. Hahaha the trunk monkey is great.

I've been having a rough time of it here also. Today I got a couple on an sr7 shad-rap (nothing big, but hey better than nothing!). The fish are suspending for sure. Water levels are low and they are hovering over the deeper water. If you can get yourself a countdown jerkbait (i use the rebel countdown) and start at 1 foot and work your way down. Or if you have a variety of crankbaits (different depths) use those. Stop and go and the double jerk / pause retrieve worked for me. The fish here are suspending at about 5-7ft in 10-14ft of water. Do you see a thermocline on your depth finder? (line through the middle of the screen usually)
  24. Welcome! I actually am trying to figure a way to move down to Lake of the Ozarks in a year or so!
