  1. More often than I'd like to admit. I do fairly well though I think considering I shore fish from a wheelchair. Limited access at places =/
  2. Drop shot with finesse worms! Going to get in a couple hours before the heat sets in.
  3. After sundown?
  4. I'm going to try and get out tomorrow to do some shore fishing if this humidity would go down! The air is so thick and uncomfortable right now. Hopefully a good ol' drop shot will work for me and I can at least get a couple dinks.
  5. Well.. Fishing from shore I use this and a drop shot as a search bait I guess you could say. Feeling for any rocks, stumps and anything out of the ordinary, When I do find something I'll make a few casts to it then search for something else. I lose a lot of jig heads and weights (even spin shot hooks which are getting expensive!), but oh well. Works great on the pressured lake I fish the most.
  6. X2 on the finesse worms. Z-man and roboworms. Also strike king 3x worms
  7. Great speech!
  8. It's a channel cat. Not too many cats get pulled out of this place so I was very surprised. Yeah, the line broke right when I got it out of the water~!
  9. I was surprised what I pulled up from using it on a drop shot! No bass on it today, but maybe next time =0)
  10. Yes, also with the elaztech worms I have an incredibly hard time getting them on the cork screw bait keeper. Keep a lighter handy to heat up the cork screw and they melt right on easily.
  11. Same here near Chicago. Been done for about 2 weeks now. It was a weird spawn this year for sure.
  12. I've never used swimbaits before. Might have to be a whole new adventure for me this summer =0)
  13. Well to start I ended up getting these lures.. From left to right. 1. Jackall Iobee Frog - Bluegill 2. LIVETARGET Bluegill Squarebill Crankbaits 3. Bandit Crankbaits - 100 Series - Bluegill
  14. Drop Shot, Shaky Head, Wacky and Weightless T-rig are my absolute favorite ways to fish. Using 6-8lb line on light spinning tackle. It definitely can pull in the big ones.
  15. The Z-man Elaztech finesse worm is my favorite
  16. Thanks everyone... I'll be trying out all the suggestions for sure!
  17. I'm very tempted to spend the $60 on one. Do you use the baby hard gill or the full size? The average bass out of my lake is between 2-3lb. Unfortunately almost everything is sold out.
  18. Thanks for all the recommendations so far. I really like the way the live target bluegill wakebait looks. That mattlures hard gill is pretty amazing looking too, but out of my price range. Have you had much luck with it?
  19. I was thinking I might throw my Rapala x-rap shad shallow. I have it in a bluegill pattern. I'll check out the ones you mentioned as well. Thanks. I get snagged a lot so I think I might have to stay away from the $33 crank =p
  20. I would definitely miss it. I think I would just turn into a bobber and worm fisherman if that happened. Bass are the only fish I really enjoy figuring out and putting time in to.
  21. Went out to my local lake yesterday. Most people use live bait at this place. There was a guy catching small Largemouths on minnows pretty consistently. Then more towards the evening 7-7:30 a guy next to me fishing for bluegill kept getting larger bass on the line when he had hooked a bluegill. So my question is... What would you throw in this situation? Spinnerbait, swim jig, crank? There are weeds about 10 inches below the surface of the water and some floating weeds. Trying to figure out what would be the best bleugill imitator. I had a drop shot on at the time with a z-man finesse worm. The smaller bass would come up to quickly it then turn away.
  22. This weekend was dead here in Illinois also. Only thing I can think is what has already been mention. The fish are in their summer patterns.
  23. 2007 Chevy Trailblazer SS (silver)... I am trading it in for a new Dodge Journey R/T in a few months though!
