Bad Day At The Launch....
Sounds quick, I've seen boaters take 2 to 3 times as long launching. I swear I seen a guy answer his phone in the middle of a launch and take aa extra 15 minutes . I ran into a guy who took forever leaving, I burned through a 1/4 tank of gas driving around waiting for this guy. I've even seen a kayak couple arguing at the ramp loading up their yak (or lack loading)

Ditch the spirex and sedona, they are ok reels but a double handle could be more of an annoyance and the sedona can wear out quicker. The sahara and symetre are nice reels, I wouldn't go under the sahara line based off quality and smoothness. You will notice a small upgrade with the symetre over the sahara which I think is worth it. But since you are asking for it as an xmas present go for something even better in the line, a stradic fj 2500. They can even be found on ebay for around $140.- St. Croix Rage Rod
The HF might be too stout, when I checked out the inshores (tidemaster/avids) they seemed a step heavier, look at the AI80MHF first- Big Fish, Little Fish, White Fish, Green Fish
My wife is a fan of those, shame they work better in the spring time and haven't faired well this fall-winter in our area.- Big Fish, Little Fish, White Fish, Green Fish
It's better than a skunk!- Called St Croix Today...
Go on. I'm enjoying this thread- Rare Catches.....
Wife caught a mirror carp in our area, pretty rare- St. Croix Rage Rod
It's not eva or a split handle, why are you switching your interest to a avid? I'm not a fan of eva, but I like the neoprene rage handle- Which To Get?
Depends what your dealing with now. Is your electronics that out of date? or You getting blown around to where you need a shallow anchor. what's more important to you- How Much Does It Weigh, Free Nip Cavitron To The Winner

I don't stop, if one spot is frozen I'll go somewhere else- New Roboworms!?!?
Like the bottom package pictured? I think they are older bags, I found a bunch of them on close out- Roaches In Boat
Look on the bright side, you can use them as bait- Best Bc Reel Around $120
Why is that? Recently been to a bps catalog outlet and they had like 40 of those marked at $99- Benifits Of Mono Vs. Fluro
Fluro makes your wallet lighter- Split Rings Size And Brand Recommendations
I couldn't help you in size but when I went out looking for rings I ending up buying the big bags at cabelas in numerous sizes that way I'm set for anything, it was worth it since I ran into a big collection of cranks/jerks a little later down the road. I never ran into a problem with the house brand rings not have I ever heard anyone complain about any bad rings on a structural standpoint.- Lake Pickwick Roadtrip Video!
Thanks for the vid- Why Would You Not Want Sensitivity In A Cranking Rod?
It's like you don't want it, it's just not necessary to have a very sensitive rod because of moving bait and strike.- Curado 50E Noise
Glad you find the problem.- If You Could Only Use 1 Rod What Would It Be?
I use a 6'10 MXF for my all around spinning rod, with 10lb line it's versatile enough for me with many different techniques.- Chronarch Ci4
Not a lot out there about it. I've heard the typical complaining of the wimpy CI4 flexing, but I never experienced this with the regular CI4's I used my wife's CI4+ HG for a few hours and I can say it's better in every category over the E's series. The higher gear option is sweet and the braking has plenty of adjustments for fine tuning. Very smooth casting and retrieve. Though my season is very poor now and fish are hard to find I haven't felt a fish on it yet. I really like it, now I have to get one for myself. - Shimano Reels Personal Reviews
