  1. I recently purchased a boat. This weekend I will be installing a 24v trolling motor and an on-board charger. The guy I bought the boat from bought a brand new wet cell cranking battery (Everstart Marine). I have an almost brand new Optima Blue Top (AGM) that I have been using in my other boat the I would like to transfer over. Of course I would have to buy another Optima Blue Top. My question is .... Can I install 2 different types of batteries (1 wet cell & 2 AGM) for the on-board charger?
  2. 2006 Toyota 4Runner V6. She does the job, but she does not like it much.
  3. This gets a little long, but the first minute or so had me in tears. Hate to see how he launched it because he is obviously scared to get the trailer wet. ;D ;D
  4. Thanks for the info guys. Had a bit of price shock with the first two places I called. That's when I posted this. I first called the two most convenient places. Both were in the $150 range for covered and around $100 for outdoor. Thought that was a little steep
  5. I am beginning to shop for a place to store a 19ft boat. I wanted to get a general idea of what some of you guys are paying and what amenities do you have? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
  6. The first glimpse you get of it. I know the first sight of the fish in my avatar has to be one of the most exciting things I have ever seen.
  7. Didn't really get Rampage there in the 3rd. Literally probably a shot or two more away from the the ref stepping in .... Rashad gets to his feet and I think everyone but Rampage can see Rashad is not all there. The breeze from a descent fart would have knocked him out ..... and he doesn't throw a punch for a minute ... minute and a half?!?!?! Pretty boring fight for the most part. The hype was exciting though.
  8. New smoker .... $450 Had a HUGE tree branch crush my previous one. :'( Was sentimental too because my grandpa and his buddies built it themselves a long long time ago.
  9. I used to work at a place and the only bathroom was IN my boss' office!!!!!! How is that for awkward :-[
  10. One of my dad's good friends had this pulled on him twice over a span of 3 or 4 year. He acutally welcomed it and made out like a bandit. First he was living near what is now the Kansas Speedway. That was pretty touchy around here and a battle that went on for a few years. That ended up passing and he moved to where is now a Costco and was forced to move again.
  11. You have to get them semi comfortable with your bait before you start casting right at their nose or running the bait into them. If one swims off like a freight train at the sight of your bait and doesn't return for over 30 seconds .... that one is probably uncatchable at that time.
  12. Here's a cool pic (or at least I think so) of a nice 4 lbs male bass turning on my bait after I just ran it to it's tail. It did this like 3 or 4 times. It sat there and stared in the direction of my boat and I would run the bait into him. He turned VIOLENTLY and went nose down at it. He would turn so hard his tail would come out of the water which you can kind of make out here. I was trying to get a good pic of that, but this was the only one that turned out. This pic is of the time he actually took my bait.
  13. I want Mosley to knock Mayweather out, however I would have to give the edge to Mayweather.
  14. I just had my first ever Monte Cristo ever. Wow. Oh so bad .... but oh so good.
  15. I don't know what you are talking about? Never heard of it. ;D ;D
  16. Not gonna lie it was a pain compared to what I have to do with the trailer. First you had to unload just about all your gear. The just lift the nose of the boat onto to tailgate or as far up as you could get. Then walk around to the back and push it in. With the trailer I can loan and unload it with all my gear in it.
  17. The jon boat was a 14ft. With the utility trailer I get the boat ready (put the motor on, connect the battery, load my gear except for my rods because those can and will fall out when you launch) and back it up so the tires are barely in the water and push it off. With the truck we created 2 levels. I used some 2x4's cut to the length of these notches about 1/2 way up the bed side walls. The 2x4's rested across the bed in notches and then I cut a piece of plywood roughly the size of the bed to rest on top of those. Boat went on top and all the gear below. I did this method with a Ford Ranger first and then a Dodge Ram.
  18. Sorry I don't have a picture of the inside. I may make the maiden voyage of the year this weekend and I can snap a picture of the set up. Pictured below are both the Jon boat (which I have gotten rid of) and my Bass Buster type boat I have had for 15 years now. I bought the jon boat as a project a few years ago to see if I would like it. It was wayyyy too tippy with the decks I installed. I eventually cut them down and just used them as floor boards. It was better, but it was still something you had to watch yourself with. Yeah you had a little more room to move around in, but the loss of stability just wasn't worth it to me. After only a couple trips I sold the jon and went back to "old faithful". I have had it for 15 years and it just as of a couple of years ago started leaking. But not through the seam. Rain water leaks in where the handles are. I can turn it over before a trip and it drains in 10 to 15 minutes. I have made a mod just this winter and drilled a hole on the back corners. Now it drains in less than a minute. I will plug those up with boat plugs while on the water. It's not the most comfortable of boats with 2 people (I have to 10 ft model), but its doable. I feel comfortable taking 6 rods with me. I have an Eagle FishMark 320 that I secure with velcro so it's easily removable, but also somewhat secure. I launch it by myself 80% of the time I go fishing. I have only had the trailer around 5 years. Before that it was tossed in and out of the back of a truck. It has always been kept outside in the elements. I guess what I am getting at there is the durability factor that people seem to have issues with. By boat has taken a beating it was leak proof for 13+ years, but like I said before not in the place most will think.
  19. Wow!!! Seems like the SALs have been pouring in this year. Big ones too!!!
  20. I have had both and MUCH prefer the bass buster type boat.
