Landing A Bass With The Trolling Motor
Well I have always heard them say it on tv ... "Stay out of the trolling motor!!!" even though the bass many times was no where near it. Always thought to myself the chances of that happening are pretty slim and I have never even really come close .... until today. It was like the d**n thing almost knew what he has doing. To make matters worse the wind was howling pretty good and was pretty close to getting blown into the rocks.

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
No it was slow for us too, I think the most we caught in the same general area was 2. Had 6 total for the day. Everything was very small. I did have one come unbuttoned near the boat that I believe was a little better fish, but aren't they all. Had several pretty good hits on crankbaits, but could never get hooked up. All but one were caught on jigs.

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
I will second the wind on Melvern on Sunday. Wow!!! Almost had a disaster in the dam around 10:30 with that "hurricane" that whipped through. Wind was pushing us into the rocks and the trolling motor prop was coming out of the water so it was pretty much usesless.

Deep Cycle Battery Accident
I have no suggestions but a "been there done story" ... Back when I was a teenager and needed my dad's vehicle to tow my boat around I unknowingly let a deep cycle battery set tipped over night in the back of his brand new "company" Trailblazer. Throughout that summer it ended up eating the carpet from the cargo area all the way up to the driver's side floor board. I had to pay to replace the carpet.

Lowrance Hds Powering Issue
Well I went out this morning for one last ditch look through to see if I was missing something. All I did was pull the fuse to double check it ..... and voila it turned on?!?!?!?! I am puzzled, but it is working and I went fishing today.

Lowrance Hds Powering Issue
I charged the batteries before storage and have charged them since getting it out of storage. I am not sure about the fuses. Is there something that comes with the units? I assume that's what Cabela's used. I have not cleaned the connections because they did not look like they needed to be. The batteries have started the motor and run the trolling motor. If the batteries or connections were an issue wouldn't those things have more issues than a sonar unit?

Lowrance Hds Powering Issue
I bought 2 HDS 5 units last fall/winter. I had Cabelas install the one at the console. Before I put my boat up for storage last winter I checked to make sure they worked. They worked fine. About 4 weeks ago I went and got it out of storage and started prepping it for the season. When I went to power on my unit at the console, it powered up and then shut down. It would not turn back on. I tried my other unit and it would not turn on either. My battery connections look perfect. Frustrated I called my dad and started working on other things while I waited for him. When he got there and I went to show him how the unit would not turn on ..... what do you know it turned on. Put on my other unit and it would not turn on. Back to the original and now it would not turn on. Kept on disconnecting and reconnecting it and it finally turned on. Tried both units at the bow and it was same thing. Each location is attached to different batteries by the way. I installed the latest updates on each unit and everything seemed to be working perfectly and was able to power on and off normally. I thought the problem somehow resolved itself. So now today I go get the boat out of storage and it is doing the same type of thing, except this time I have not got it to turn on? Any ideas? Don't know if this of any use, but there is a faint chirping sound when I press the power button and my gauges kind of go wild (gas tank gauge goes up and temp flashes and goes up and down). If I turn the key to the on position there is no chirp. I was hoping to take my first trip out tomorrow, but that is looking slim now. ***** Warning ****** I am an electrical idiot

Got my new Otterods today!!!
I am so pumped. This thing is absolutely gorgeous. It's hard to tell, but the threads match my Curado 50e perfectly. I really like the look. If it fishes half as good as it looks I will be happy ( I am sure it will). Specs: North Fork Composites MB 709-1 IM TiSic guides (spiral wrapped)

Shelf life of mono
In my opinion .... its relatively cheap (especially for mono), why risk it?

Is water supposed to be coming from here? - Mariner 115
Yes it is doing this while running. I thought the measurement for the water pressure was at where the motor exhaust the water?

Is water supposed to be coming from here? - Mariner 115
Went and got my boat out of storage and started it up in the driveway to de-winterize and make sure everything looked ok before taking it out. Should water be coming from where the red circle is? It ran and started up perfect. It maybe okay and I am just being a little over cautious, but I don't remember seeing that before ...

Smartest man alive?
Ever fix something computer, boat, car, etc. related and feel like the smartest man alive? It happens to me about once a year. I just had one of those moments and am so proud I thought I just had to share with somebody. About a year ago I got a wireless printer. Got it working on the old router no problem. Then back in December I got a new wireless router. Never could get the 2 to sync up and after many frustrating tries I gave up initially. I would try every other week or so and all of those attempts ended in frustration ..... until today!!! Just had to reset the flux capacitor to 4.3 jiga-watts instead of 5.7. Stupid me!!! Might just have to have a celebratory beer. ;D

when do you put your winch strap on
Hook is on until my rear end is in/close to the water backing in. Hook is on before the trailer is pulled out. Seen a boat dropped on the ramp. NEVER going to happen to me.
