  1. WOW!!! A 14!!!!! No predictions from me. I would just like to see BIG weights. Bigger the better.
  2. LOL .... Your wife reels 'em in and you take the pics with them. I see how you work. ;D ;D ;D
  3. Very Nice!!!! I have some great memories on that river. Back in middle school and early high school, my best friends and our dads headed went down there for spring break. Fishing was only half the fun. We usually rented two pontoons a day and each boat would easily catch in the 100's on average. Not really my type of fishing, but the camaraderie was fun.
  4. Looks like a fun boat to tear into to.
  5. Test that scale. I didn't want to say anything at first. I was afraid it would belittle your accomplishment, but you could have said that was up to 7 lbs and I would have no problem believing it. Get some weight and put them in a plastic grocery sack and check to make sure that scale is accurate.
  6. This is the one I ended up with http://store.schumachermart.com/sc-1200a.html I got it at Wally World for around $45. I am a little confused about the amps. Seems like everyone recommends a 10 amp charger. This ones a 12. Is that alright??? Does that just mean it will charge faster?? <--- Is that alright??
  7. Congrats!!!!!!!!
  8. I couldn't agree more. I liked when he had Gary Yamamoto on one time. Some of the expressions on Gary's face were priceless. Also he had a guest on and they were Grouper (sp?) fishing. I think just about anybody would let their guest have first shot at the first fish ..... nope, not Roland. Soon as that first pole went down, he raced to it. His guest eventually ended up catching one, but guess who's was bigger : ;D ;D ;D
  9. You too. Have you told her about the time you ................... :-X ;D Welcome Keri!!!!!
  10. I used to have that in the old "Classic". It used to be my favorite rod and the funny thing is I hate spinner baits. It's a great general purpose rod.
  11. So you got to stay in Dallas??
  12. You guys are a lo of help!!! ;D ;D Will do.
  13. Anyone .... anyone???? : I a plan on getting one sometime tomorrow................
  14. I read somewhere they are very busy attending fishing shows and temporarily took their items off ebay until sometime this month.
  15. Ahhhh yes. This is probably one of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to fishing and feel pretty strong about it. I do my best to remove line I see at the lakes I fish. 75% of it comes from my trolling motor > >
  16. Strike King Series 4s Crankbait in Firetiger - For whatever reason my dad and I hammered them with this bait (including the one in my avatar) when we were down there a couple years ago. We found spawning areas with wood (that narrows it down ;D) and went to work. Lipless cranks in red, orange, chrome Flukes - I personally like watermelon with chartreuse tail in the prespawn Jigs - black, blue, green, brown Big worms
  17. These are the ones I am looking at, but I am open for suggestions. I would like to stay under $70 http://www.minnkotamotors.com/products/chargers/detail.asp?pg=mk110p They have this on sale at BPS for $50 plus a $15 mail in rebate Then I was at Wally World the other day and somebody mentioned they liked these chargers: I noticed they have a marine series http://store.schumachermart.com/ssc-1000a.html Then an Auto series, but it has a setting for marine deep cycle batteries http://store.schumachermart.com/sc-1000a.html What's the difference between these two??
  18. I was eagerly awaiting your report. I thought you were going to Alan Henry too??
  19. You could always drive your item there yourself :
  20. Stay away from the Rapala one.
  21. For the past 4 years, I have caught at least one rod/reel a year. I am hoping to keep that streak alive with a Steez combo this year. ;D I have caught a lot of strange stuff, basically all from one lake. The wierd stuff always seem to bite on DD22s. Last year in an all day deep crank-a-thon I caught an old old Coors can, followed by a bra, follwed by a pair of panties and then a lawn chair later in the day.
  22. It's all personal preference. For me the only reason I ever picked up a baitcaster was to pitch. I felt it was the only thing I couldn't do with a spinning rig. Now I am using all baitcasters. For me it works and that's all I use, finesse too. All I can say is try it and see what works best for you. Lots of people use both, lots of people use one exclusively. Niether are right or wrong.
