  5. So it's Ryan's fault it wasn't a 10 ;D ;D ;D Still a great fish. Congrats on the PB!!!!
  6. It's no doubt a big smallie, but something does look fishy about it now that flippin said something. Check out the area by his left hand. Plus, check out roadwarrior's avatar. I believe one of those smallies is 8 lbs ...... and this one is less than a pound more than that???? Looks A LOT bigger. Here's a similar size one http://www.sportsmansresource.com/photo_pages/photogallery_photo_32.htm
  7. After I tried all the dumb home remedies I found on the web (honey, soy sauce, mustard, potato) I resorted to the aloe vera. The pain is pretty much gone, but it's starting to blister. I was hoping to get on the water Monday and Tuesday for the first time. I hope this won't put me on the DL . BTW - Everytime I get a burn like this, it really puts what burn victims go through in perspective. I have a little square inch area on my thumb that absolutely hurt like hell for a good 5 to 7 hours. Over large portions of your body .......... :-[i can only imagine
  8. Maybe I am loosing it, but that fish looks bigger the 6-8 to me. This is however the 2nd post this week that I have felt that way .............. but that thing is a BEAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. I have had exceptional experiences with both as well.
  10. Grilling some steaks tonight and the idiot I am decided to grab the hot grill grate ............ OUCH!!!!!!!!!! I grabbed it between my thumb and index finger, but the thumb took the worst part of it. It immediately started blistering a little. It happened almost 3 hours ago and it still hurts like hell. Anybody got any home remedies??? I have been trying to keep an ice cube on it. It seems to help, but the minute I take it off, it starts hurting again. I have a Photoshop assignment due by midnight tonight so I need the use of my hand.
  11. Lightning and 30 mph winds .... about the only times I won't giver a go
  12. Really no way around it, even with sunscreen. Both are a must!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. I am a big fan of twin tail grubs.
  14. I tried it out for the first time tonight and really like it's features. Does yours make a high pitched sound/buzz?? I think it's the fan?? It's not that big of deal, but when I go on trips I have to bring the battery inside a hotel room and charge it there. I don't think I could sleep with that thing on.
  15. What were you expecting from it?? A riveting story. It was pretty much exactly as I expected and I thought it was alright. What I really enjoyed was seeing it in the theaters. I saw it twice in the theaters. The second time I went I watched the audience more than anything. It was funny to see all the different reactions. There was one guy to the left of me about to have a heart attack he is laughing so hard. At one point he gets to laughing so hard he has to leave the theater. Then there is another couple to the right of me and they laugh at nothing. They were just getting mad. Then there was another couplenear the front that lasted about 5 minutes .... and they left.
  16. Yes they are deep cycle. I just bought one yesterday. There was also 3 other guys in there buying the same battery. One guy had them before and he had nothing but good things to say about it. Members on here seem to speak highly of them as well. From what I understand it's the best bang for your buck out there.
  17. Like I said in the other post .... It looks in the 6.5 range to me.
  18. Yes they broadcast it just like the Classic. It's a lot easier to watch though. No fill ins and it's pretty much straight business. On average they probably weigh in one guy a minute. Here's the Day 1 Standings http://sports.espn.go.com/outdoors/tournaments/elite/news/story?page=b-tourn-elite-delrio-standings-day1 I can't find the link to the video, but tomorrow get on the same site and start looking around for a blinking icon that says "Live Weigh-In" I think it starts around 3:00 Central
  19. Thanks KU!! Exactly the type of answer I was NOT looking for!! I'm just waiting for the "Get the Daiwa, it looks cooler" response. : I guess I would give the edge to the Daiwa in the looks department. OK.... Here's a little more thought ...... If you have a 50Mg, I found it VERY awkward to go from a 50Mg to a 200 size reel. Not so much the weight, but the physical size. I had been fishing with 200 size Curados for 4 or 5 years and never had a problem. Then this winter I added a Scorpion 1000 Mg and the 200 size Curados felt horrible. I am now replacing them with all 100's. This is just my experience. So I don't know if your looking for reel capacity or what .... but I would take that into consideration. I think Citica just came out with a deep spool version of the 100 Citicas.
  20. The Citica Why .... it's a Shimano ;D ;D Hopefully somebody can give you a more indepth response
  21. How about the top 20 all over 25 lbs
  22. A little over half done 1 Ken D Cook 5 28-15 2 Alton Jones 5 28- 7 3 Dean Rojas 5 27- 0 4 Jeff Kriet 5 26-14 5 Charlie Hartley 5 26-12 6 Gary Klein 5 26- 9 7 Kevin VanDam 5 26- 8 8 Takahiro Omori 5 26- 4 9 Jared Lintner 5 26- 2 10 Paul Elias 5 25-11 Rumor has it there are some 40 lbs bags to come
  23. About 1/4 the way through and Dean Rojas is on top with 27 lbs Top 8 all have over 25 lbs
  24. I agree that a little stretch is a good thing. The two i have found so far that seem perfect are Gamma and Yo-Zuri. There are only a couple applications that I use braid. Another thing that I don't think anybody has mentioned is stretch helps absorb a surge at the boat that seems like most big fish tend to do.
