Can't stop watching this!
That is a hungry fish.

Green Pumpkin Nemesis
I seem to have better luck with green pumpkin in lakes and ponds that have a lot of vegetation growing in them.

Fishing NightMares?
I've never had any nightmares about fishing. Plenty about work though.

Bps speed shad vs Keitech
I’ve noticed that certain sizes of the BPS model swim better than other sizes.

Have you got a lure you refuse to give up on?
It’s Beetle Spins for me. I’ve used them for years, but I have never caught anything on them.

Reconnected with a childhood friend...
When I was about 8 or so my Dad was getting the boat ready, and I was casting a jointed rapala around some timber. I hooked a bass, and it jumped and threw my lure. That is the earliest memory I have of a bass throwing my bait.

12poundbass's annual winter thread
St. Louis here. Up until now we have had one major snow back on Nov. 15. I think we had something like 3 or 4 inches but I can't remember. Other than that we have had dustings. Friday night into Saturday we are suppose to have a "major winter event". I have heard we could get anywhere between 3" to 6", or from 6" to 10".

Storing hooks- solution needed
I wash out an old prescription pill container. The kind you get from the pharmacy. I pull out the dividers and I can get 3 or 4 of the pill bottles in a row. I write down the hook size and type of hook on the pill bottle with a sharpie.

weight of lead baits
When I choose a jig it depends on water depth, wind, and the cover I will be fishing in.

Seeing a lake come back
There is a conservation area near me that has had its share of fish kills over the years. Most of these ponds are no more than 10 feet deep, and a lot of them had the weeds removed either by spraying or by the addition of carp into the ponds. Now there is a push to get vegetation back into these ponds. Mostly lilypads, but several of the ponds have had coontail added.

Honey Hole Problems---What Would You Toss?
Fishing from the bank I would go weightless with a senko, or a fluke.

The Winter Slog
I move my jig a lot slower this time of year. If the bottom is fairly clear then I'll drag it along, but if there is timber or rocks, then I'll hop it slowly and let it sit a little while. In the winter the bass around here like to hit the bait once and then move off and watch it for a few seconds. When I feel a bump I'll deadstick the jig and after 5 or 10 seconds I'll see the line start to move off. I won't feel a thing except for that first bump.

Casting Rod for Topwater
Right now I use an old BPS mh/m 7'0" rod for the buzzbaits, and the Cordell boy howdy baits. For the spooks I use a BPS mh/m in the 6'6" length. The smaller length rod gives me better control when I am walking the bait.

Posting photos from phone?
I always send the pic to the computer first. It's easier for me to edit and post from the computer than to mess around with the phone.

Casting Rod for Topwater
I fish heavier baits like buzzbaits and Spooks on a mh/m. I use a m/f spinning rod for small poppers, and prop topwaters.
-
Inline Spinner
I use either Rooster Tail or Mepps. I'll fish with them when the bite slows way down. Always seem to catch a small largemouth, or panfish.

Labeling Your Fishing Rods/Reels With Line Size?
My ml spinning rod has 6# mono on it. One bc and one spinning reel have 10# mono, and the rest get 15# big game. I've spooled them enough now that I can remember which reel gets what line, but when I started out I wrote down the line size on the piece of tape I used to cover the backing on the spool.
