  1. I like a mounted camera that shows everything.
  2. If there is a light wind I usually just let the boat drift across the water. If the wind is heavy I will drop anchor and move a little at a time. I don't worry about the boat scaring the bass because IMO the grass helps hide me from the fish. I will throw a spinner bait, lipless crankbait, or a shallow running crankbait depending on how far down the grass is from the surface. If the grass is patchy then I'll try a fluke or a senko and drop the bait into the holes between the grass. You can also punch through the grass with a big heavy jig to get to the bottom, but use a trailer that won't wrap around the grass. If the grass is up on the surface you can't beat a hollow frog to coax the bass out of the grass.
  3. I'd say you were very lucky.
  4. The first bites of the year are the hardest to get. Good going!
  5. It doesn't look brown. I would say a spot.
  6. I am not brand loyal. I have used Abu Garcia, Shimano, Daiwa, Lews, and BPS reels over the years. I have had issues with all of them. Right now a majority of my baitcasting reels are Abu Garcia, and my spinning reels are Pflueger Presidents.
  7. Longest time without fishing is usually from sometime in November to sometime in March. Depends on the weather. Longest time being skunked was three weeks. That happened a couple years ago and I couldn't buy a bite.
  8. Jig with a craw trailer.
  9. Those are some hawgs right there! Nice!
  10. That lake is going to have structure and cover just like any other lake. I would let the fish tell me what baits to use.
  11. Some of those people are going to have some serious headaches.

Black crappie. White crappie have bars.
  13. Besides Rat-l-traps I like to use Strike King Red Eye Shad and Cordell Super Spots.
  14. I use Zoom and BPS tubes.
  15. Water is muddy, but I like the cover. Nice bass.
  16. I like the BPS Stik-o. They hold up a lot better than Senkos.
  17. Black, blue/black, and green pumpkin to start with. If those don't work I start playing around with colors to see what works.
  18. That is a healthy looking bass, nice job!
  19. Nice bass! I just love when the carp jump next to the boat. It scares me to death. I always think that I hit something.
  20. Today nothing. A couple of days ago the bass were hitting a white and chart. spinnerbait.
  21. I do keep a log, but it is more for a reference. I like to go back and see what bait worked on what day, and under what conditions.
  22. Good going on the new PB! Congrats!
  23. Small white rooster tail. I just reel it in fast enough to make the blade turn.
  24. When it rains I usually carry a scoop in the boat with me. It comes in handy for older boats with leaks also.
