  1. The biggest problem I have while punching is the wind. I usually pick out a mat that I want to punch through, then I move the boat upwind from it. I drop anchor and let out enough rope so that the end of the boat is over, or close to, the mat I want to punch.
  2. Lately I have been catching them on topwaters in the morning, then jigs and shallow running crankbaits later on in the day.
  3. I fish a lake that has a lot of vegetation in thick patches over about half of the surface. When the wind is blowing I can drift right across the tops of the weeds and hit the still side of the water on the backside of the weedbeds.
  4. I switched over to Gammys. Had an issue with the hooks breaking, and the hook sizes changed. I use to buy 2/0 and 3/0 size, but now the hooks are nearly the same size.
  5. I have, but in some of the lakes I fish the weight tends to pick up alot of weeds.
  6. Some of the lakes I fish are hit very hard on a daily basis. I think the bass have gotten use to seeing boats float across on the surface. I think what spooks them more is the motor and me moving around. When I am moving into shallow water I always try to stay still or low, and cut the motor as I approach. Usually I just let the wind push me into an area I want to fish, and then use the motor to get back out again.
  7. I bet that little guy is going to be raising heck when he grows up.
  8. I always liked to use dough bait. It does get kind of messy sometimes.
  9. I either use 15# fluorocarbon, or 15# mono. It depends where I am fishing and what kind of cover, and structure, is in the water.
  10. Nice looking bass! I have had them hit a spinnerbait where all you feel is a tap tap tap. Just like fishing plastics.
  11. That's the way to do it!
  12. You email your fishing logs to your work email so you can review them when you should be working.
  13. Mostly small jigs and small t-rigged plastics.
  14. First few weeks in May the topwater bite was on fire here. Now it has kind of slowed down a bit.
  15. Nice looking bass. Good job!

    Jig and soft plastics.
  17. In the spring it was shallow running crankbaits, around the time of the spawn it was topwaters, and since Memorial Day it has been jig with a craw trailer.
  18. Good going Congrats!
  19. Nice looking fish. Good Job!!
  20. We haven't had it as bad as some places either, but I hear what you are saying. Every single time I went out fishing in May I got rained on, and I am tired of wearing a rain suit.
  21. Spro Bronzeye in green tree.
  22. Zoom Speed Craw or Ultravibe Speed Craw.
