Fishing Log
I have kept one for about 11 years now. Before that I would write down on a calendar how many I caught on a trip. Log is much better.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
I bought one of those satchel style tackle bags for myself on Father's Day. Now when I walk the bank I can just take the boxes out of the boat bag and put them in the satchel.

Need Some Help From My American Sme (Subject Matter Experts)
I'll say what was said earlier. Try and fish open structure. You won't have to keep cleaning off your hooks, and the fish can see what is on the end of your line.

I like to take a look at the water and the area while the sun is up. You never know when a storm has pushed a log around.

105* Where Are The Fish!?!
Go night fishing. When it gets that hot here the fish turn off as soon as the morning sunlight hits the lake water.

Poison Ivy Removal
Several years ago I used roundup on some. Killed it dead in a couple of days after spraying it on. Don't burn it or chop it up. The oil is carried in the smoke and small pieces of the plant can be carried in the wind if chopped up.

Jig/plastic Rod
See if you can take the reel you will be using to the store where you will be buying the rod from, and try the reel out on different rods. That will give you an idea of how the total rig will feel.

What Lures Have You Been Using To Slay The Bass Right Now
Depending on the lake I go to, it is either topwaters in morning and then plastics, or topwaters in morning and then jigs. The bass are starting to turn off of crankbaits.

Your First Rod
Mine was an old 5' rod that my Dad pulled out of the river. Never knew what make or model it was. Over the years it held a Zebco 33, and a Johnson Century.

Fishing In The Wind
Get two anchors. Drop one off each side of the boat. If you only have one anchor, stop the motor and see which end of the boat catches the wind the most. The lightest end should be pushed around the most. When the boat is turned so that it is going with the wind, drop the anchor. That way you won't be getting whipped around so bad when the wind gusts.
