  1. The weeds in your pic look like stuff that grows in a lake that I fish. I usually throw a weightless fluke or stik-o right in the middle of it. I work the bait over to a hole and just let it sink down into the hole. After a couple of twitches with no bites I work the bait over to the next hole, and keep going until I work the area.
  2. Nice going, but I am more impressed with the 85* temp!
  3. T-rig Jig and craw Weightless All on mh 6'6" rods.
  4. I like purple, greens, browns, oranges, and shad colors. Anything that looks like a natural color.
  5. Caught one about 7 or 8 years ago. I don't have a pic handy, but it went 4-11. The middle of the bass was about 2/3 the size of its head. Found out later that the pond had a fish kill and a lot of the baitfish had died off.
  6. Good going! Congrats!
  7. I buy one, and then if I like it I go back and buy more.
  8. Holy Cow!
  9. If that is pre-spawn then its been going on here for a month and a half.
  10. I was there on Saturday. All I can say is that the weather was nice.
  11. I turn the boat into the wind and drop a heavy anchor. I throw t-rigs with heavy weights, big jigs, and rat-l-traps. When white caps start forming I go in.
  12. Didn't get any bites, but it was good getting out and wetting a line. It was tough last weekend with ice on the lakes and 70 degree temps.
  13. That is some fish!
  14. The same baits I use when its not raining.
  15. Two or three years ago I was fishing in some trees that were in a deep creek bed. I got a real good hit on a stik-o and could tell this fish was a nice one by the way it was pulling. Then I noticed the line was going down but it wasn't moving around in the water. I spent a couple of minutes looking for the snag and then a couple more trying to figure out how to get the line loose. Ended up breaking the line and losing the fish.
  16. I usually start along the bank and go deeper. Sometimes I will stay shallow, sometimes I will stay along the deep structure. It all depends on where the bass are.
  17. Forgot to attach the pic!
  18. Most of these are out of my Dad's tacklebox.
  19. I usually take 4 with me in the car. I carry 3 depending on where I am going. If there is a lot of brush I will carry 2.
  20. I get upset when I lose any bait, not just expensive ones.
  21. Oh yeah. I will see a spot and I just know there is a hawg sitting there just waiting for my bait. I hate it when that feeling turns into I should have been fishing over there....
  22. I Know I Should, But I Often Forget To... Slow down when fishing plastics. I get really bad after casting a crankbait for a while. I have to take a deep breath and slow myself down.
  23. It has been in the 40's and 50's here since Saturday. Some of the smaller lakes still have ice on them.
  24. You might try some of the local mom and pop tackle stores. Sometimes you can find some really good stuff that the bigger stores do not carry.
