Don't be afraid to try something new, and think outside of the box.

Few years back I took my car in for an inspection. They told me that the 3rd taillight, the one in the back window, was burned out. I thought, so what, and I told them to replace it. When I picked up the car, the 3rd tail light didn't work, and I said something. The service counter said sometimes they get bad bulbs and they put a 2nd bulb in for no charge. That bulb didn't work either. They pulled my car into the shop and looked at it. They told me I had a short somewhere in the electrical system that might start a fire, and that it would cost $700 to $800 to find and fix it. I ask them if the car would pass inspection without the 3rd light, and they said it would, so I got my paper and went home. After dinner I was looking at the car and I noticed that the bulb was very hard to turn and it didn't want to come out of the socket. Well I got it out and noticed that the socket wasn't round anymore, it was bent. I got a pair of pliers, and reshaped it, put the bulb back in, and the light worked just fine. Last time I ever went to that place.

I've never had a frog go after a mouse, but I have had frogs go after a black Spro before. I don't think the bass care as long as they think it's food.

I keep it simple: black jig for muddy water green or brown jig for clear water black and blue jig for everything else. I try and match the color of the trailer to the jig. I use a lot of greens, browns, blacks and blues for my trailers. I also like to use plastics that are too torn up to go on a t, or c-rig. Just trim them a little and use them like a regular trailer.

I keep my car keys and house keys on different rings. That way when I lock my keys in the car I can go in the house and get the 2nd set to unlock the car.

I don't listen to anything out fishing. I like to hear the peace and quiet, but I also like to hear if the fish are jumping.

I always tie on baits before I leave home based on my fishing logs, and the current conditions of the body of water where I am heading. Sometimes I nail it, and sometimes I sit in the boat and retie all my rigs with different baits. That is why when I go out in a boat I take the BIG tackle bag.

No, but I have had a snake chase a lure.

This time of year it is crankbaits, and more crankbaits. You can catch bass using a jig or a plastic, but I have much better luck with crankbaits.

I usually wear a straw hat in the summer, but I have been looking for a buff. I will have one purchased before it warms up around here.

In a boat, usually 4. I have them rigged for jigs, t-rigs, weightless, and cranks/spinnerbaits. Off the bank I carry two. One for fishing shallow cranks, and one for fishing plastics.

Take a look at the BPS rods. Sometimes you can get a really good deal.

Wow I am suprised by the number of spinnerbait, and jig responses. I have never had any luck with a beetle spin. I have 7 or 8 of them in different sizes and colors, but they just don't work for me.

This time of year I have better luck with crankbaits.

Around here, moving baits work better during the pre spawn. I usually use lipless baits, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits until the spawn starts then I slowly switch over to fishing more plastics and jigs.
