  1. Great pic! Sounds like he had a blast!
  2. Congrats, and Happy Birthday!
  3. Your lucky, the last time that happened to me the hook went straight in. Ended up going down to the ER to have it cut out.
  4. Sam, were you doing any construction around your house. I have heard that this will sometime wake a ghost up and make it active.
  5. Were you fishing from the bank or out of a boat? I have 15# mono on the rig that I use for jigs right now. When I am fishing off the bank and bringing a bass in, the last place I want that fish to go is into the weeds, IMO its worse than wood. If you can get the fish through the weeds, you'll be pulling in extra weight from the weeds you're dragging in. Those weeds you're pulling in will also make you lose contact with the fish. It's just like a big bass jumping and throwing the bait.
  6. I like the Spro bronz eye. I walk the dog with it, but my best luck comes when I work it across the surface like a popper.

If the bass aren't going after a fluke I will throw a slug-o. I think the slug-o looks bulkier and sometimes that is what they want.
  8. I use the voice recorder on my phone. Its faster than writing everything down. When I get home I put all the info down on an Excel spreadsheet.
  9. Like the rest have said. You'll need to go online to buy it. The BPS and Cabela's near me only stock the small spools.
  10. I voted yes, but that's just me. Try it out for a while and see how you like it.
  11. I will wash out an old medicine bottle, the ones like you get from the pharmacy. Put all of the same size hooks in a different bottle. The med bottle will fit into a 3700 box without any problem.
  12. The only one I can think of without looking at my logs went 4-01, and it was on a baby brush hog on a split shot rig.
  13. Good job!
  14. It depends on what I am fishing for. I have better luck with minnows fishing for catfish, but I think in some of the lakes around here the bass hit artificial baits better.
  15. I have never really had a taste for bass. IMO, Bluegill is the best tasting fish.
  16. How deep was the fish caught? 3 to 4 feet Did the lure contain rattles or have hinges? No Was the lure a natural color (brown, green) or was it an unnatural color (chartreuse, orange)? Black If possible, what moon phase was your PB caught during? N/A
  17. I have a lake like that around me. You can catch 4,5,and 6 pounders, but you'll need to get the bait past all of the little ones to do it. I finally started using a 3/4 or 1 ounce jig, and t-rig with a heavy weight on it around structure, not cover. Hopefully something heavy will sink to the bottom and get past the little ones before they see it.
  18. I have had the anti reverse turned off on a spinning reel, snagged something behind me while casting, and have forgotten to tighten up my drag when I got out to the lake. Good job on getting the fish in.
  19. Sounds like if you take the new job you will be more on the mgmt. side. I work with maintenance where I work, and it is anything but boring. Whether its good or bad, something is going on here everyday. The office building that I am in holds 2000 people. Always getting calls about too hot, too cold, and restrooms backing up. I don't know how your place contracts out its labor, but you also have the outside of the building to take care of like lawn, and snow removal. When the tornado came through a couple of months ago we were here all weekend to make sure that the building was up and running come Monday morning. Just some thoughts.
  20. Turtle needs to learn about catch and release.
