  1. That's a cool story!
  2. Dinks I swing into the boat, and anything of any size gets lipped.
  3. Hold your rod tip down to the water.
  4. Probably a jig with a trailer.
  5. Another monster bass!
  6. Congrats! Nice bass, and a nice looking spot.
  7. Could have been that you put one of those tiny washers on backwards. Sometimes they have a slight curve in them and if you happen to put the wrong side down it messes up the entire reel.
  8. Nothing like pitching a jig into the water and seeing that line start taking off.
  9. Blue/Black Jig with a craw trailer in 3/8 ounce.
  10. WTG! You have to love it when they break the surface after those frogs!
  11. I would have to say my folding hunting knife. I have gone off without water, and food before.
  12. That is great!
  13. I can't get a bite walking the dog for anything. I get better bites working the frog through the muck like a popper.
  14. The only freshwater fish I don't care for is bass. My favorites are crappie, bluegill, cat, and walleye.
  15. There are a couple of lakes in a park, maybe 5 min. from my house. They tend to get fished very heavily. I also know people have pulled fish out of there and taken them home even though the fish are not legal size.
  16. WTG! That's one fishing trip that you won't forget!
  17. Went out Saturday morning for about 6 hours. I haven't caught anything larger than 2 pounds for the past couple of weeks. I started out with a crankbait to try and find them, but I didn't get any bites. A cold front came through late last week, so I figured I would try a drop shot out in the deeper water, but that didn't work either. I moved into a shallow arm that can't be more than 6 or so feet deep, and started using a black jig and trailer. I got my first, second, and third bass on the jig throwing right next to wood. They were all about the same size maybe 1 to 1-1/4 pounds. I moved back into the end of the arm and started throwing a baby bass 1 minus, and got number 4. That one was the dink of the day. Moved to the other side of the arm, and tossed a wacky rigged stik-o under a willow tree. Number 5 swirled on the stik-o, and that bass went 1-11 lbs. Then the bass shut off, and I moved out of the area I was fishing, and I tried fishing around some small islands. I didn't see anyone catching anything. This must have gone on for at least an hour and a half with no bites. I moved back into the arm where I had caught the first 5 and decided to try the weed line around the shore. I pitched the jig over some thick weeds that were sticking up out of the water, and then pulled the jig up and dragged it across the tops of the weeds. When the jig dropped off the weeds back into the water, POW, a bass hit that jig as soon as it went into the water. I knew by the way the bass was pulling that it was bigger than anything I had caught in a while. I got her in the boat and she went 4-06. I took a couple of pics with the cell phone, but those really turned out blurry. Ended up with two more dinks from the weed line before I headed home.
  18. Sorry to hear about your wife. Best of luck to you and yours.
  19. I work on CAD at my job, and I'm on it probably 5 of the eight hours I'm at work. I also work with a couple of architects. The big gripe I have with them is that they are always shooting for a design that is aesthetically pleasing with no regard to $$$, while I am being told to get the job done with minimum cost.
  20. 6'6 medium, spinning for drop shot, t-rigged finesse, or small weightless baits. 6'6 medium heavy, bc for jigs. 6'6 heavy, bc for big weightless baits, and for heavy t-rigs. This is what I take when I fish from the bank. When I'm fishing out of boat I take one or two more.
  21. I have 4 of them. A 5000, 5600-C4, 5600-C3, and an old round black max. The only problem I have had with them is that the pawl gives out every few years or so depending on how much you use the reel.
