  1. I was fishing a t-rigged grape colored creme worm in some timber. I felt that familiar tap, tap, tap, and set the hook. I was a little dink, but I'll never forget it.
  2. Wow, sorry to hear that. Glad everything turned out OK.
  3. Good to hear! Take it easy, and heal up quick.
  4. When the sun comes up I try to fish the shade as long as possible. When it is really hot outside it seems like it doesn't seem to matter. When the sun comes up the bite shuts off.
  5. Be careful about casting into the wind until you have your thumb trained. When you practice start by throwing with the wind.
  6. Besides most of the trailers mentioned above I will use anything for a jig trailer that I can t-rig.
  7. Find the standing timber in the deepest water and drop a jig straight down next to that timber. When that jig hits the bottom shake it a couple of times and bounce it around a little.
  8. I was off from work on Monday so I ran my youngest up to Walmart and picked up some nightcrawlers. We went over to a neighborhood pond and cleaned up on sunfish. She's only used her new spinning reel twice, but she's fairly on target with it. Another plus is that she's not afraid to touch a live worm
  9. Years ago some pike got into a catfish lake that I use to fish. It was thought that some of the minnows that were being sold for bait in the area were pike. The people that managed the lake put up signs that said if you caught one you were not to put it back into the lake.
  10. Has anyone fished this lake lately?
  11. I always have to watch out for the wind when I use light lures. Something like an inline spinner I usually don't have a problem with, but a weightless finess worm will get blown up into a tree if I don't allow for the wind.
  12. Maybe that's why it has been so cool here lately. It really has frozen over.
  13. Wonder what the honeymoon was like?
  14. I haven't had a chance to watch any of it yet.
  15. If I am fishing finesse plastics in the weeds I like at least a MH rod. In open water I can get by with a M.
  16. I can't get myself to put less than 10# on my spinning reel.
  17. All of my BC reels have 15# on them. My spinning reel has 10# on it, and the UL has 6# on. The big problem I have remembering when I spooled them. Last year I started making an individual entry in my fish log with dates, brand, size, and type of line. Now if I can't remember I just go back and look in the log.
  18. Congrats on the new PB! That is a nice looking bass.
  19. No stickers on my ride.
  20. Where's the livewell?
  21. Congrats!
  22. Rods, and tackle I will buy on clearance. If I am looking for a reel, I do research online to see how others like the reel.
  23. I usually take four with me when I go out.
  24. You can't beat the excitement of fishing with a frog!
