  1. I like fluoro. When I fished with braid in cover the problem was that when I hit a snag I had two choices. Go in and get the bait, or drag the limb back to the boat. Either way the spot I was trying to fish would be upset for a while.
  2. congrats on the new PB!
  3. Congrats on the win, and the new PB!
  4. First of all Welcome to the forums. With only water clarity to go on, I would say that you are not where the fish are, as mentioned above. Where I fish, my best luck in muddy water comes from fishing around wood. Also depending on the strike zone of the bass you may not need to work the jig all the way back to the boat. Drop it in around cover and work it out maybe 10' or so. If you don't get a bite then reel the bait in and try again.
  5. I have a Buck folding hunting knife. I got it about 5 years ago for a present. Over the years I have put that knife though the ringer and the blade has kept its edge.
  6. All I can say is that you're lucky that you came out Ok. From the pics it looks like you took a solid hit.
  7. Good Job! At least you didn't get skunked.
  8. Welcome to BR, Jaybird!
  9. I'm at a loss for words for this one.
  10. You'll just have to play around with them and see how they fit the bait you are using.
  11. I like to use the 1/2 oz. size in deeper open water. If I am throwing around cover or in shallower water I will use a 1/4 oz. just because it sinks slower, and I'll have more time to start reeling it in.
  12. Great bass! Congrats on the new PB!
  13. My fav lake is now gin clear, and full of hydrilla. What I am starting to notice is that if they don't hit in the early morning on a frog, or a jitterbug, then they aren't going to be tearing things up on that day.
  14. People bring their dogs out and let the dogs swim in a lake near my house. I keep thinking that one of these days one of those dogs is going to get stuck on a hook that someone lost while fishing.
  15. Put a piece of tape around the backing. It will prevent the line from digging into the backing when you spool it.
  16. Wow! That is something to cherish.
  17. Strike King bitsy bug with a Netbaits baby paca chunk for a trailer.
  18. Usually a Zoom finesse worm.
  19. When I slow roll near the bottom I hold my rod straight up if I know there are snags around.
  20. Good job froggin, that's a nice bass!
  21. Welcome aboard! Nice looking bass!
  22. Never use it. I go fishing whether the moon is up or down.
  23. I have been keeping them since 2002. I like going back and being able to see what the conditions were like on a certain day, and how they compare to the lake conditions now.
  24. I like to find structure like a creek bed, and position the boat right over it. Then I will work a big worm or jig around the creek bed or parallel to it.
