Trilene Knot
Another option if you're trying to hide the tag is snell the hook then bury the knot and eye into the plastic. oe

Ford Vs. Chevy Question
In a spinning reel I want a metal spool, multi-disc drag system, bearing supported roller guide, a rigid metal frame, and an easily accessible anti-reverse switch. In bait casting reels features are more variable and subjective. oe

Tuf-Line Braid Review
Related but not quite... I will mail my 100 yd sample spool of 12lb SuperCast to whoever sends me a PM with their snail mail address, no charge, I'll eat the postage (within the lower 48 states). This line has been VERY LIGHTLY used, is in pristine condition and ready for you to pass judgement on it. oe The spool has been spoken for and mailed.

20lb mono is also thicker than a 20lb braid... could the diameter of the line play a significant role? oe

Knots For Braid...
I don't clip the PE tag end close to the knot... no need too. Leave 3/8 inch to accommodate any line slip within the knot. I'm OK with a terminal knot that will break at 95% instead of 100% of line strength. I'll leave less behind when I need to break off. oe

Tail Spins (Little George)
The jigging rap is a vertical presentation where the depth is much more easily controlled than the cast and retrieve presentation of the Little George. The Silver Buddy can be effective in either presentation or a hybrid of both. oe

Tail Spins (Little George)
Mine were good at catching "crap" off the bottom. I prefer lipless cranks, small framed spinnerbaits or plastics with action tails to a Little George. oe

Tuning Jerkbaits
Nate... I think you'll need to downsize to a Pointer 65 for your 5 gallon bucket... sorry it was just too easy. Water temp will determine whether your bait suspends and that variable is constantly changing (especially in the early Spring). I start the season with enough suspend STRIP (not dot) on the belly of the bait to suspend level. I carry a small retractable Xacto blade and slice off very small pieces of the suspend strip as the season progresses and the water warms. This process needs to be done while fishing and can't be duplicated effectively in a bucket at home. oe

Landing Nets
How is that different than a $400.00 rod? If you pay $80.00 for a net you'll use that net on every fish you catch... if you buy a $400.00 rod you'll convince yourself you still need several more rods to catch a fish with! oe

Texas Rig Vs Jig
My preference is a jig head and plastic fished exposed hook whenever cover allows. When grass/weeds prevail I fish a jig head I can bury the hook point into the plastic (Brewer head or wide gap). When rocks are eating my jigs I fish a jig head with a light double wire guard. I very rarely fish a skirted jig head and haven't fished a traditional Texas-rig with slip sinker for the past couple decades. I guess we all have our idiosyncrasies. oe

Braid And Freezing Temps
Skeletor6... You are a university student if I remember correctly. I assume you've learned not to believe everything you've read on public fishing forums. One of the characteristics of Dyneema and Spectra is good abrasion resistance (a high coefficient of friction). Google them and come to conclusions based upon more thorough research. oe
