Fighting the wind
Wind is usually less stiff around sun-up and sun-down, plan accordingly. A drift sox is a great tool, I have several different sizes, but more often than letting the wind push me in the direction it want's to take me, I prefer to throw the sock off the stern and use my trolling motor to pull it behind the boat. This technique does a surprisingly good job of boat control providing you you don't stop. oe I agree it seems windier than in my younger years... I attribute it to all of the windmills the "green energy" guys have built?... oe

Jigs vs texas rigs in ponds
I don't carry any sliding weights... 1st choice to fish plastic is dressed on a bare jig head hook point exposed; skirted swim jigs (with the "weed guard" radically thinned or completely cut off) when I feel I need to bulk up the bait; and jig head/plastic with a buried hook point when cover dictates (Brewer head, Title Shot or weighted swim bait hook). oe

Youtubers who love to fish...
The question being which TV/social media personality is most passionate about fishing... without doubt, Al Lindner has never lost the fire in his belly for chasing fish and is my answer. God, family, fishing, I admire him for having his priorities in order. oe

Pixy 60 bearing swap?
Yes, I agree with your assessment about TSI321 oil and I remove at least one side of spool bearing shields to make maintenance oiling easier. Frame bearings get 90wt lower unit oil. I've changed spool bearings to ceramic hybrids in the past but have conflicting thoughts about the Pixy as it is prepared stock for light weight lures... I'm leaning toward leaving it stock. oe

Pixy 60 bearing swap?
I have the Hedgehog pin removal tool and I thought it worked on my Pixy when I last serviced it... that was several years ago though and my memory is getting worse with age. My interest was whether the the ceramics would give a significant improvement over the stock bearings which are quite good. I usually use it for small jerkbaits such as the Pointer 78... oe

Pixy 60 bearing swap?
Has anyone reading this changed Pixy 68 stock bearings to ceramic hybrids? Did you find a noticeable difference of any kind? Thanks for any insight. oe

Softest, Thinnest, Supplest Fluorocarbon?
Then why are you swimming up stream by forcing yourself to use a line that hasn't worked for you in the past. Fishing often has many answers to the same question, find the answer that best works for you rather than conforming to the anonymous voices of social media... oe
-
Softest, Thinnest, Supplest Fluorocarbon?
I have similar loose coils when working jerkbaits, but I use a PE mainline so not an apples to apples comparison. My fix was keeping my thumb lightly on the spool while working the bait during the retrieve. oe

Jerk bait hook question
Suspending jerkbait = exactly the same weight Floating jerkbait = one size larger if the new hooks don't catch on each other when cast oe Why?

What Leader material do you all use? (braid to leader)
I carry .011" Berkley Sensation (nylon) and .011" Berkley 100% fluorocarbon. Which I use depends upon what I want to do with it... most of the time I use whatever I last put on that particular reel as I can't remember which it was anyway. oe

Finesse Texas Rig?
OP, Pair that Charlie Brewer grub with a Brewer Spider jig head that it was designed to dress and you'll have what you're after. Purchase and read Charlie Brewer's book "Slider Fishing" and you'll become infinitely more accomplished at the finesse tactics your seeking. oe

Favorite lipless retrieve?
I needed to read through the responses to be certain it wasn't a trick question... cover and structure will determine what retrieve I would use as cover and structure will determine where the bass will be holding. Burn it along the top of weeds, hop it along a clean flat, let it fall down the face of a sharp drop, bang it into a bolder or stump. If I'm not fishing it across the face of the bass I'm not expecting to get bit. oe

Fish attractant, scent cover up, or snake oil
OP, I think you should fill the available space in your tackle bag with a tube of antiseptic gel and some band-aids. Those items will do you more good than fish attractant... oe
