  1. Eze-lap model S or Rapala has a pretty good retractable stone. Both are convenient to carry with you while fishing. oe
  2. I could check each state on the web individually, but this seems slightly easier... How much is the price for a one-year adult resident bass license in your state and how long is your state's bass season. Iowa -- 19.00 -- year round oe
  3. Cal's drag grease... but it probably isn't any easier to find. oe
  4. I'm assuming you troll the Hot 'n Tots? oe
  5. Thank you all. oe
  6. Thanks for the info... is it balsa or plastic? oe
  7. Somebody tell me about the Rapala Thug, pros & cons... from your own experience please. oe
  8. I'd like to know if you duplicated the situation would you find the same reaction?... I use small glass containers with solvents. oe
  9. If you haven't already, you might want to rub a little light oil on the brake race using a q-tip. oe
  10. I can't recall reading an out of balance spool complaint about any reel... oe
  11. Mike... with all of this on-line help, I think you're going to be very busy. oe
  12. Education is seldom inexpensive. Send it off to DVT and begin your maintenance career with oiling the spool bearings occasionally during the season. More will come over time. oe
  13. Mike... have you used the line? I've been looking for a consumer review on the stuff (especially the lighter tests). oe
  14. Sir... I appreciate your subtlety. oe
  15. Cadman... spend some time on Youtube. There are several pretty good videos dealing with spinning reel maintenance. Come back and ask questions after you've watched a couple. oe
  16. My spiinning rods are balanced slightly tip up without any lure weight. It's the weight of the lure that I want to feel bring the rod out of balance and signal to me that something is going on with the lure (loss of weight or additional weight). I balance my spinning rods directly on top of my lead finger holding the rod. I don't usually try to balance my casting rods as I fish them tip down. oe
  17. Big John's mushroom head made by Gopher Tackle oe
  18. Remember... the slightest nick, abrasion or poorly tied knot and suddenly you have a 2lb line. oe
  19. No logos on my hat or shorts... the shirt is a freebie given to me by the company of which I sell product for. So I guess they do pay me to wear it. oe
  20. How much will you be paying me to advertise for you? oe
  21. Fenwick HMG has 7'2" med fast action, med power... not sure of exact handle length oe
  22. David Fritts talked Lews into producing the BB1 & BB1 Pro 5.1 - 1 ratio reels without an IAR bearing. He claims he can feel a crankbait's vibration through the reel if it doesn't have an IAR. What are the thoughts concerning this from site members who have fished with these reels. If you have links to discussions of this topic (excluding from the Lews site and the 3-4 sponsored pro's youtube vids) please post them. Thanks. oe
