One of our respected members, Jimmy Matthews (frogtog), has been diagnosed with Usual Interstitial Pneumonitis, a very rare lung disease for which there is currently no cure. As of right now the doctors are treating him with Interferon Gamma, but he is going to Duke in mid-October to see if he can get on a lung transplant list. Frogtog, not wanting to be the center of attention, or sound like he's whining about the hand he's been dealt, didn't feel comfortable posting about this, but he has given me his permission to let you know what's going on and to ask you for your prayers and encouragement as he battles this disease. For those of you who don't know, Mr. Jimmy is a legendary tournament fisherman around Eastern NC. I had the privilege of fishing against him several times on his home river, the Roanoke, and when he showed up the rest of us pretty much knew we were fishing for second place. Aside from being a great fishermen, has helped a lot of young anglers get into tournament fishing (myself included), and is always generous with information about what the fish are doing. He's a good man who has done a lot for other people, and now he needs our prayers and support.

I don't drive ANY hauling a boat now a days. I sold that thing. Yes, the boats were repairable. Expensive, but repairable. BTW, the big wreck was right in your back yard 5bass. We were turning down the road to launch at Claytor Lake. We made the front page of the newspaper the next day. :-[

I was pulling my boat, following my dad, pulling his boat. He stopped quick, and I didn't react fast enough. I ran into the back of his boat, throwing it off the trailor and skidding down the center of the highway. My bass boat ended up in the bed of my truck, like a john boat. In a split second I totaled two trucks and messed up two boats. In a seperate incident, I ran into a tractor trailor on the Interstate coming home from a fishing trip. We were in a traffic jam, so folks were just ideling by. Several folks hung their heads out the window and yelled, "Are you catching anything." So, I know how those folks looking back at Burley were feeling. Burley, I promise you that they were hoping you would run into the fool in front of you who was taking a picture too. ;D

Is there a monthly service fee for TiVo?

I've been to several folks' houses who have TiVo (spelling it like it sounds), and I really love the technology. However, I use a regular house anteanna and get "free TV". I was wondering if they make some device I can hook up to my TV and record, pause, etc. "Live TV". Does anybody know of one?

I can't decide whether you have a lot of guts or no brains. :-/ I'm leaning towards a lot of guts. ;D I raise labs, and sell to some area duck hunters, but I have never heard of using poodles as duck dogs. Interesting. ;D

Yep, BK ran a deal, two combo meals for $5 when I was in college. My roomate and I ate there at least once a day, sometimes twice. It was cheap, but it took a lot of work, to lose all that weight after I graduated. :-[

I'm a meat hunter (when I feel like shooting). I like deer, so I usually kill my limit, clean it, and eat it, or give it to others who eat it. I hunt with a rifle and sit in a nice, comfortable stand that overlooks a corn or soy bean field. It's fun to me.

My 6 month pregnant wife thought that was a good one. ;D

I have a three year old chocolate lab that I love playing and working with. My wife is also 6 months pregnant with our first child. Now, I've never met my daughter, but I already love her a lot more than the dog I've known for three years. Sorry guys, but comparing a dog's life to the life of a human just isn't the same to me. Flies are a different story though. Obama should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. They have feelings too! ;D
