  1. I understand your logic, but its just not logical. Yes, you can follow a pro in your own boat. But, unless you've got a Citgo sponsorship, you can't do it for free. Following a pro around the lake for three days is going to cost you a lot more than $100 in most situations. Yes, you can see where they're fishing, and probably even what they're using from your own boat, off at a distance. But, you'd probably miss the little things that seperate the men (pros) from the boys (you and me). Yes, your logic is simply illogical. ;D
  2. Thanks guys, I still can't stop smiling! 5bass, go ahead and get that VA Tech stuff in the mail, we're going to have to have something to wipe its butt with. ;D
  3. My wife, Fran, and I found out that she is pregnant a couple of weeks (and several positive pregnancy tests) ago. We've been trying for a few years, and she had a miscarriage about a year ago, but we heard our baby's heartbeat for the first time yesterday! The due date is November 22nd, so he/she ought to be able to hold a rod by the spawn of 2010, right?! There isn't a smiley big enough to express my joy, so ol' faithful will have to do.
  4. I just polished off a 6-pack of those. :-[
  5. This is the best post I've seen in this section of the forum! Thanks Sam.
  6. Congratulations, you now have the record for the oldest resurrected thread :-/ I love to read the old threads.
  7. One of my all-time favorite jokes! ;D
  8. I think his Internet service went up again and he couldn't afford to pay it. I have missed him too.
  9. http://www.snopes.com/rumors/soapbox/juvalaviv.asp
  10. It's very clear now. What sport are we talking about? :-? ;D Oh, and regardless of the sport, I'd play to win.
  11. Come on, Sam, it's more fun this way! ;D And, you know you already voted.
  12. I love how seven of us have voted so far, and not a single one of us understood what we were voting for. ;D
  13. I'm a preacher and I love it! My Boss is the greatest and the retirement package is out of this world.
  14. What went wrong at the Classic?
  15. How many of you have been late getting somewhere because of Paul Harvey? I know I've been listening to him in the car and got to where I was going, but couldn't turn go inside until I heard...the rest of the story. He is one of the greatest story-tellers I've ever heard. His ability to paint a picture with words was unbelievable.
  16. The radio legend died today. I'll miss him.
  17. Prayers said. Hang in there, those kids need you.
  18. What are ya'll, the PC Police of bass fishing? :-/ They singled out Bain because she's one of the "poster people" of BASS right now. KVD, Ike, Bain (and a few others) are who most fans are interested in. It wasn't a slight, it was reporting what most folks who follow the sport want to know. If the shoe was on the other foot, and the story was about Bain, and they mentioned that she was only one spot behind KVD, would that have been bigoted? Don't be so sensitive. ;D
  19. Is that why my e-mails haven't been going through? ;D
  20. Congratulations Muddy! Great accomplishment.
  21. 49 dead in plane crash. Sad day.
  22. They get into college because they are great athletes, grades are secondary. Most schools make sure athlete's maintain their playing eligibility if you know what I mean. I went to Univ of Mich and those athletes can't tie their own shoes. Kudos to Joe Paterno at Penn st., only I can think of that puts education above athletics. Has a very high graduation rate. You think these Pro fisherman are any smarter. I've watched Bass tours, redfish tours, walleye tours , sails and kings. I can't understand a word they're mumbling. Pro fishermen are stupid? You can't understand a word they're mumbling? That's odd, I've watched a bunch of those same shows and I've never had any problem understanding them. The bass pros especially seem to be intelligent and well spoken.
  23. I agree with you 200% Muddy. I say 200% because not only do I believe the oil companies should use their huge resources to drill for oil in America, I also believe the private sector is who should fund research for alternatives. We, as the American people, do a lot better job than the Government at just about everything else, why not alternative fuel research too? Going back to the oil, I don't think the problem is deciding who should pay for the drilling, I think the problem is getting the tree huggers to agree to the oil companies drill. It would be nice for the government to excuse the private sector, who comes up with a viable alternative, from taxes. But, I don't think businesses should pay taxes at all. I like the flat tax idea, but that is a topic for another thread.
  24. The main problem I have with this is that I do not feel like alternatives are being researched as much or taken as seriously as they need to be. quote] No offense Big Tom, but you sound like a politician! ;D I just said that we should research alternatives as a part of a two-part solution. Your response completely ignored that point and focused soely on the oil drilling. Again, why can't we do both?
